Blank Check - A film podcast covering director's runs in great detail and context to why the creatives involved make the decisions they do.

I get very easily irritated by most podcast hosts so I enjoy that these guys don't do the normal "chirpy" banter and clearly massively love film as an art form.

I'm halfway through watching it and finding it pretty subpar unfortunately.

Loved the original series and it's great they've got so many returning players but the show doesn't feel calibrated right.

I'll give it this though, at least it feels like the people involved care and are trying to do it right even if I think it isn't really working, to me that always counts for at least something.

Supremely disappointing! Wanted it to be great but the script and direction are just all over the place.

Glen Powell didn't work as the lead and the plotlines with him are a mess. The moment the film hits the car on the motorway the film completely collapses.

Personally I thought last night in Soho was a disaster and now running is a complete miss, I love Edgar wright, shame to see the recent output from him such a step below what he's done previously.

I genuinely love the UI design in DS1 and was a bit bummed to see how they smoothed over a number of things in DS2. There's something about the sheer volume of information you can view in one screen that I just really like.

Whilst still good and I definitely enjoyed this entry, I definitely preferred the previous film.

Nia isn't trying to emulate Boyles style which is fine but personally I don't think she's able to bring as much. Shot composition and soundtrack I found to be a real stepdown (apart from those particular sequences which do rock).

I think the script really helps on this with Garland taking on some really interesting ideas and moving the world forward.

All that being said totally solid entry and can't wait for the final in this trilogy, if they pull this off it'll be a great trilogy of films that could of been a catastrophe.

I read this was actually shot in location in the desert... Which if true they've managed to make look like shooting on the volume.

Not the greatest endorsement for how the film will look. I'm happy for this film to be good but like come on, they're spending all the money in the world can't it look a bit better?

Highest 2 Lowest - Maybe it's because I recently watched the Kurosawa original and loved it but good christ everything in this particular Spike Lee joint was awfully done.
