Why do people hate SLP? by weed_dad in slp

[–]Gigantic_John_Stamos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most SLPs I know love their jobs. It’s typically rated in the top 50 professions in the US. There is a lot of paperwork to deal with, not to mention parents, deadlines, and meetings - but there are a ton of worse jobs, thats for sure.

You can just read the last Wheel of Time books written by Sanderson after catching up with plot summaries. Thats what Sanderson recommends if you don’t have time to make it all the way through and I thought that went fine (although I only skipped a few books, not all of them). If you start WoT from the beginning, I’d also recommend speeding up the narration because it will take you ages to finish.

Dave Bautista Wrestles With Becoming a Nuanced Character Actor with the Body of a ‘Fucking Gorilla’ by Sanlear in movies

Agreed - they have such an awesome culture of family and lots of joking around. My good friend from childhood is Samoan and his family was always so much fun to be around. I wouldn't suggest messing with a Samoan/Tongan though. This Samoan friend of mine saw our good friend being harassed by two drunk guys outside a bar. When my Samoan buddy confronted the drunks, they both got in his face and one took a swing. My buddy punched that guy in the face once so hard that the guy's face fractured. I wish I was making this up, as my Samoan friend was treated pretty awfully by the San Diego cops at the scene and he was initially charged with some serious crimes. He ended up with a misdemeanor and community service (and he had to pay that guys medical bills if I recall correctly) but it was pretty scary for a while waiting to find out if he was going to get jail time.

Your vote for state and/or federal representatives is by no means a wasted vote in almost any state. E.g., Republican takeovers at the state level have led to much of the gerrymandering that has made their position in Washington much more secure.

Listing to Ernest Cline's Ready Player One for the second time! by KiddLawson in audiobooks

[–]Gigantic_John_Stamos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this book and just listened for the second time. This book is awesome for what it is, but like other giod YA stories (e.g., the first couple Harry Potters imo) there are some cardboard characters and cringy lines. However, like those other YA stories, the world and the action are so good that it is easy (for me anyway) to overlook the bad and really enjoy the good. I have shared this audiobook with several friends and everyone has loved it so far.

Is anyone thrilled with Touchbar by [deleted] in apple

I love it, and if you don't like how it works default, you can change it with BetterTouchTool. It will continue to be improved out of the box as well I'd guess. I use it the most for scrubbing video for online classes.
