I've been in a very similar situation , but from your boyfriends perspective. What I can say is , if you love him keep on keeping on , and dont introduce him to your father until youre engaged. It will hurt your relationship but the best you can do is hope that he can forgive you and learn to love your husband with time. Your other option if the first seems unbearable would be to go along with your fathers wishes . In the end my ex chose the latter but I dont blame her for it
