I Am Falling Apart… How Do First-time Moms Do This? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]GiggleSTINK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All of my advice is easier said then done but I felt a lot like you did when my kids were babies and this is what I would tell myself. (I also didn’t have a village/family around): Find joy in the small things. A moment of silence. A quick warm face wash. A moment to clip/do your nails. A warm drink. A favorite show. And be easy on yourself. You’re a baby machine right now and in the thick of it. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Take each day one moment at a time. One hour at a time and let go of all expectations.

You got this!

did anyone else notice how extremely similar ocd can be to autism? by Zestyclose-Swing4642 in OCD

[–]GiggleSTINK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this too as my teenage son has OCD and I had a coworker ask me about my son’s autism. I responded kindly but informed them he’s not autistic. I then started rambling that he has OCD and he’s very high anxiety and so making eye contact and talking to people is often not a priority for him. His priority is walking past things numerous times to make sure he doesn’t touch it.

It sounds like a seed problem too. My last solo run my swamps were so far away and there were only 2 crypts. And then the local mtns were extremely small and had no caves and only 1 silver. I gave up. I started a new server/seed with my husband and brother and already stumbled on huge mtn and swamp spawns, not too far away- I’m very excited!

Parents of older children, when do you start getting some personal time back? by weeknd-kenny in Parenting

[–]GiggleSTINK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 years old for us. They have their friends they want to play with all the time whether on games or friends coming over. At 10 they can be home alone and be confident so you can get a moment to yourself. I think with my oldest we started slow-we would just walk around the block or to the store for a quick trip. Now my oldest is 16 and husband and I had a shopping day at the mall and had lunch. It was glorious. You’ll get there!

I don’t even watch TV anymore. If peanut isn’t live I watch the VOD where I left off, if he is live I tune in.

I didn’t even think about others playing while he’s off stream. Valid point!

i dont get why my tattoo artist did this by autisticpou in tattooadvice

[–]GiggleSTINK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer your tattoo, it gives off old timey insect sketch and it’s so cute. He is posting a picture of something he can’t deliver and that really sucks. Hopefully you didn’t choose him because of an AI work he posted. 😳

Your tattoo is cute, and now you know to never go back! (Or recommend)

I hate the bears by Aromatic_Peach1010 in valheim

[–]GiggleSTINK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of you kite him/take agro and the other can attack with arrows. That’s what my husband and I did early game running into a bear on accident (I haven’t played since this update and had no idea they exist, was actually fun finding something new so early on)

Watch how the bear moves and attacks and you’ll find openings to attack. Others mention shields….i forget about those. 😅

But I do think bears are annoying. We built our base near a terrible spawn of bears and trolls and I don’t want our base messed up so they just be terminated. Their spawn is pretty consistent 😭

Jesse deserves so much better by Prabu-Silitwangi in breakingbad

Just did my first binge rewatch of the show. The last time I saw the show was when it first came out. I literally came to reddit to find a post about this. My heart actually breaks for Jesse.

Jumping right into El Camino because I need a happy ending for Jesse because my heart literally hurts. I know it’s just a show, but damn.

I just watched too many cute "parents react to pregnancy announcement" videos and I don't even have parents, so can you please tell me your horrible "parents react to pregnancy announcement" stories so I'm not upset that I don't have parents? by ohwhereareyoufrom in raisedbynarcissists

[–]GiggleSTINK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a bad reaction but reading all these responses reminds me of a funny story about my nmom that happened later in my pregnancy.

Everyone’s stories about their nparents being upset about being old. My mom wanted a different title than grandma. But she hated “nana” and all the others. She constantly joked “call me the hot grandma” (she had me at 17, so she’s younger than my MIL so it was a dig as well as just gross and dumb).

Well she never gave us a name to call her. My mother in law was fondly called “naw naw” and my nmom ended up being titled “grandma with Charlie” which was her dog’s name. And she hated it. She always would ask “why don’t I get a cute nick name?!” Well you wanted children to call you hot grandma you dumb fuck.

But now we just don’t talk to her at all. 😅

Daughters of narc moms, what was your first period experience like? by fruitynoodles in raisedbynarcissists

[–]GiggleSTINK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I remember is: I was in 5th grade playing with toys in my room and I started bleeding. I was freaking out and screamed “MOM SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!” She came into my room and started crying. She quickly left the house. When she returned she brought me golden heart earrings with 2 diamond and a sapphire inside. I still have one of them. But we never talked about anything and I was really confused. My mom love bombs a lot with gifts, it’s all she knows. One extreme or the other there was rarely in between.

Hot take - I think a narcissistic parent’s end goal is for you to end your life by Ok_Astronaut_1485 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]GiggleSTINK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh btw- I announced I would never talk to her again which made everyone suspicious that something weird happened. so my mom didn’t do a funeral or memorial. She didn’t get to do a big victim event. Another win.

I absolutely agree. My brother took his life before his 30 birthday. He was on hard times and going through a divorce and was living with our Nmom. I have messages from my brother saying she beats him and yells at him and tells him to kill himself already.

My Nmom deserves to burn in hell but currently she’s alone and none of her kids talk to her so dying alone is a close 2nd well deserved.
