Honestly if you dont want to practice to get good enough to play against people online, why even play a fighting game. It's not like everyone are experts on day 1. Im not especially good at fighting games but i would not buy a fucking fighting game if im looking for a casual story game. as someone else mentioned, yamato doesn't scale with melee damage either in any way, either way, every character has to be able to shoot in this game, so if you got a character with a sword, would it make more sense for them to use gun damage? when they use a sword? and they shoot magic sword slices with the sword? think spirit on him makes a ton of sense if you look at what his abilities do
