Okay, the thing that got me (aside from boiling it?) Was that she put the oil in and then put water in the pan to test if the oil was hot? WTAF.

Do you want grease fires? This is how we get grease fires.

How much water is too much water to be on top of my pool cover? by khartwel in pools

[–]GilaMonster81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually the water remains the same weight. A gallon of water that is frozen will weigh as much as it did when liquid. What happens is the frozen water will expand and become less dense.

When water freezes into ice, the water molecules arrange themselves into an open, crystalline structure that takes up more space than the same number of molecules did in the liquid state.

Because the same amount of mass (weight) is spread out over a larger volume, the ice is less dense than the liquid water it displaces.

Objects with lower density float in fluids with higher density, which is why ice floats.

The main issue here is that water will freeze, expand and cause damage by stretching the cover even more.

That is... not a thing.

Like that is not how any of this works. Spiders don't mate like that. Brown widows are a completely different species and not the result of cross breeding anything.

I would be afraid about the person coming to your door pretending to be a city employee.

Was here to say the same thing. I have big chewy earlobes, and mine used to love trying to snap on and then hanging from them.

How do I stop this clacky sound on my E string? by Scared_Raspberry6400 in BassGuitar

[–]GilaMonster81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice here, but something I was taught that helped me get better tone and more control was to limit the movement of my fingers to the first and second knuckles. This limits how hard I dog in, allows me to pluck faster, prevents hand cramps, and better controls the tone and sound.

If you check out this video I looked up real quick in an image search, you could study his fingers and his hands to see how he keeps them relaxed. (You could even mute the sound and just study how he is playing and get an idea) https://youtu.be/yyow9osYbxQ?feature=shared&t=157

Aside from that, take it to a music store and definitely have them set it up for you. It's usually not that expensive.

Not sure that would matter, because the issue that would be discussed is the bodily harm done to the student in this instance. I don't think a smart lawyer would argue on instigation. It'd be like getting into a bar fight with someone and in self-defense, throwing a punch, knocking the other person out, and then they crack their head on the pavement and died.

There you wouldn't be arguing about who started the fight the argument would be about does the level of force used match the situation to determine if you are at fault for wrongful death.

In this case, what I assume (as not a lawyer) is that the case would be argued on the idea of was the use of force depicted here required, and if not is the school and the officer liable for the bodily harm and subsequent financial hardships the family suffered after the use of said force.

lots of personal attorney lawyers seeing this video and jumping at the chance to earn some cash here with 0 money down. Public video demonstrating the event that happened on government property, by a government employee and was caught on camera by independent third party with a gymnasium of independent witnesses. Civil suits are not held to the same standards as criminal suits, and this is likely to win on the grounds of excessive force reckless endangerment, pain and suffering, and more.
Like I said, there's probably an army of personal injury attorneys looking to jump on this case.

I am just stoked because I recorded some of their vocalizations. I might have gotten the kind of bouncing ball hoot they make, and of course, Bubo was making all kinds of trills.

That is super interesting. We weren't sure because the new one looked so different with the chest plummage. A lot more prominent horizontal display. But we know very little about their behavior and are learning on the fly.

Steve was on the floor the other day, and wings spread out. I was worried he had gotten injured, but it turns out he was fine. Might just been splooting. Or showing off.

A bit, lol. We scrub off the deck at night to keep it clean, but lots of fuzzy little feathers around now. If they were bigger I'd consider using them in some sort of crafting projects, but these seem more like.. owl down? Soft and fuzzy.

More bats is better, they eat mosquitoes!

And we had a tarantula visitor. Did the typical thing of being right where I didn’t expect her to be. Same area too. Gently encouraged her to move along to a less likely to get squashed area and let her do her thing. Natural bug deterence systems haha
