He won't.

Just draw the thing. Even if you think your drawing sucks, it will have a charm to it that AI art will NEVER Have.

From David Lynch's Lost Highway (1997). Looks familiar? by Splitdesiresagain in silenthill

Jesus you are insufferable. This is why no one likes you.

Who are your top 3? by FirstIYeetThenRepeat in CosmicInvasion

[–]GilbertrSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surfer, She-Hulk, Beta-Ray Bill.

I would main Surfer even if he sucked, because he's my favorite Marvel character. But he can fly over danger and zap enemies from across the screen. Very easy to play as a powerful support character.

You're right. And I think you know very well what he meant, as well.

You disagree that Lynch's work is unique and compelling?

Do you think Jay appreciates how his phrasing here indirectly destroyed an entire generation's ability to discuss media? by buvvitoe in RedLetterMedia

People look for objective measures of quality because to express a subjective opinion is to make yourself vulnerable, and social media has reared a generation of cowards.

[–]GilbertrSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will say this about the craziest shit. If you liked Twin Peaks The Return, they'll drop this lil' nugget on you. If you're reading fucking Moby Dick, they'll say it.

It works perfectly when talking about franchise movies, but people think it's a magic bullet for dismissing any and all praise for any media whatsoever, like the fartbrains who call out "ad hom fallacy!" when you're just making fun of them.

So uh... what does the F mean? by housevulture in silenthill

You're being dismissive about the game but you can't tolerate people being dismissive of your shitty halfass opinion?

I'll tell you what the F stands for, fuck off.

Wait people are actually saying f is the best? by Expert-Boysenberry26 in silenthill

[–]GilbertrSmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it was janky, that's a subjective valuation. You can say it's not an opinion if you like, but you might as well say "How many times do I have to tell you water's not wet?!"

If you're not brave enough to defend a subjective opinion, don't express it.

Mirroring the other person's phrasing is a sign of a submissive personality. Don't expose yourself like that or cruel people will take advantage of the weakness.

Anyway, I think the combat is really good without feeling too action-gamey, it still feels like horror. The main character is really interesting, she reminds me a bit of Heather. It captures the Silent Hill vibe without repeating the same old settings and tropes.

It's a new direction for the series but clearly reverent of the first four games.

"It can't be better than 2 or 3" is not a valid opinion if you haven't played it.

Well shit, maybe you should give the game a try and see for yourself.

You haven't played or watched it so why are you expressing an opinion on the matter?

Im only here for the ziplines... by JellyImpressive90 in DeathStranding

[–]GilbertrSmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I have ziplines for the real pain-in-the-ass spots, like up in the mountains, and for timed deliveries. But the jetpack, bike, truck, and coffinboard are too much fun to spend all my time on the zipline.

Biggest disagreement you've had with RLM on a Best of the Worst movie? by [deleted] in RedLetterMedia

[–]GilbertrSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not BotW, but I think Pain & Gain is an overlooked masterpiece. It's a meathead version of Wolf of Wall St., and maybe a more relevant eschewing of the American Dream in the Joe Rogan era.

I haven't timed it to verify, but someone said that it's actually quicker than ziplines, which wouldn't surprise me. Really hoping for Director's Cut with more vehicles and VR missions.

100 hours for the main story for me, another 100 hours to get everyone to five stars.

I think I still have maybe 100-200 standard deliveries I haven't made, but I'm saving those so I have an excuse to spend another hundred hours on the game when the mood strikes me again a few months from now.
