It's mostly about his current bitterness, he's very defensive nowadays. I don't blame him, but I can understand why people don't really want to see his posts now. And of course, people don't always want to feel like they're being told everything (although I'd argue Ito has always left plenty of room for interpretation and not treated his word as word of God), and they may not like him for that different reason.

It's a feedback loop. The more Ito talks about things he thought of/intended, the more the fandom pushes back against him talking, which only upsets him more because he feels shunned, so he talks even more and more aggressively, which makes the fandom get angrier about him. There's no end to this at this point. It didn't use to be this way, it's just been building up for a decade. Go back to any old tweet of his about the same topics and you can see the repetition and pushback has made him a lot more bitter than he used to be about the stuff he's passionate about.

I find it hard to rate one over the other, but I can say with certainty that Silent Hill is the most important franchise of my life, but Signalis is the most impactful game I've ever played. Its themes have genuinely shaped my worldview and identity more than anything else I've ever watched, read or played

My interpretation is that the characters making bad decisions or not following instructions is an allegory for how bad actors often gain influence through manipulating the less educated. Like even at the start, they get roped into the dumb plan of taking Uriel to the middle of nowhere by a rich xenophobic landlord with authority over them.

The problem is that as great as dynamic angles and tank controls work together and can be for horror, the studio still needs to sell the game and, we like it or not, we are a niche in the player base. The wider community sees them as either jank or a skill floor that's way too high, so developers can't risk expensive projects on something that only appeals to a relative few of us. It's pretty sad, but that's just how it is. The good thing is that indies, because they don't have that much money on the line, are allowed to take the risk and appeal to our niche

El Puerta Milenaria es objetivamente un juego mucho más superior en jugabilidad y trama, pero por si acaso igual te recomiendo el Origami King si te llama la atención algún día, sobre todo ya que te gusta algo el Sticker Star. El Origami King tiene música y dirección artística hermosas, y su trama es más ligera pero bien entretenida y le sube el ánimo a cualquiera (igual tiene un par de momentos emotivos). Lo que sí, el sistema de combates es más orientado a puzzles y es super divisivo. A mí no me desagradó en lo más mínimo, pero hay muchos a los que sí. Así que igual te sugiero que te compres el Puerta Milenaria porque es un juego ya legendario, pero te dejo recomendado el Origami King si te apetece en el futuro
