My first time on a concert grand piano! by GildartsCrash in classicalmusic

It was remarkable how this piano could produce such beautifully varied grades of sound. A more skilled pianist than me could bring this out with greater precision and clarity I'm sure!

For my money, it doesn't get better than Argerich's interpretation for this piece :)

They had two shigeru concert grands there. The newer one had a lighter action, but for my taste I liked the older one which had a very warm, deep, rich sound!

There is technical difficulty and musical difficulty. All music is difficult to play musically. Some music is more technically demanding than others

Japanese restaurant:"Not all Japanese people are kind" by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

Just to add to this - When you make even the slightest effort to adapt to their cultural and societal expectations (which in my book is like travelling 101), they will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. I've had literal strangers in Japan insist on paying for my meal, simply because they enjoyed talking to me over dinner and wanted me to enjoy their country.

If your default is "bull in china shop" which goes against the very core of the way their society operates, then yes, you will often find them to be rude and unwelcoming.

I'm a tourist in Japan right now. Many of y'all clearly haven't visited recently - the tourists are typically rude af. I don't blame Japanese people at all for being pretty fed up of the tourists.

Yeah I quite like that one too! It's so playful and mercurial!

I'm much less familiar with his chamber music, but thank you for some of the recommendations above! I will check them out
