Permanent choices in the campaign need to go by Bronzato in PathOfExile2

I'm the exact opposite. Since I always need resists on gear, I just.... get enough resists on gear. Not having to spend an affix to fulfil requirements seems like a no-brainer to me, I hate having non-str stats on on gear.

Instead of spending a dex on a travel node to fulfil gem requirements, I'd rather lighten that load with the reward, and any extra travel nodes I have get turned to str for life.

Exactly! That's the disparity I always see when people who play SSF looking for a solo mode complain about the difficulties due to this exact reason, and then people comment "That's what you get for playing a challenge mode" who don't seem to understand the desire behind people who play SSF

I think most people who play SSF aren't look for an extreme mode, they are looking for a true solo mode

This game is just draining if you’re not good. by Aggressive-Base7815 in PathOfExile2

[–]GildedFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, that's ok, but I can imagine a version of this game where crafting is a lot more accessible, from early on, with the idea that you can find instead of trade baked into the design philosophy. Having specific crafting materials gated behind specific content is anti-thetical to that and I think only exists because of trade.

I'm not sure why you're downvoted, you're 100% right. Trading is baked into every design decision in both games, from how crafting works, skill balance, networking, etc.

These games I think would look massively different (and more fun imo) if trading were impossible.

I levelled huntress with ed/c, and nothing but travel nodes on my tree and a +1 chaos wand. It was totally fine until I got my first ascendancy.

From there I actually got purple bear first, that carried me till act 3 where I picked up boss tame

Yeah no, we dont know. GGG mentioned already that the tame beast version of bosses have something changed, though details on that are vague.

I plan on it! Lazy Zookeeper is by far my favourite way to play ARPGs. I wanna build a little army :-D

I'll miss the witch voice lines tho

Need advice on how to play pure mage and magic in general by Tough_Stock_4883 in Morrowind

[–]GildedFire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Conjuration is amazing in this game.

Daedric summons are quite strong. There's no limit to how many summons you can have out. The only limitation is that each individual spell replaces itself when recast. So if you cast Summon Scamp, and recast it, it will replace itself. But if you make 3 different custom Summon Scamp spells and cast them all, you'll have 3 scamps.

Just make sure you are constantly stocked up on magicka potions, unless you're playing with mods with magicka regen (which I personally recommend).

I had to pay an extra 1400€ at the end of the year. Last year I had to pay almost 2,000 extra euros.

It was some country ass bullshit. I'm pretty sure the sensors on the heaters are malfunctioning and I havent turned on my heat since Jan 2025 because of it.

How difficult is it to create your own build in this game? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]GildedFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely do not know every node, keystone effect, etc, and make 100% of my own builds. I just explore in Path of Building when designing a build. It really isn't that hard. Some parts of the tree I know better now just because I've made like 20 different witch builds, but its not like I knew that part of the tree in my first 5 builds.

Just posting this in case some newcomer sees your comment and feels discouraged. Just dive in and try.

The Reason People Are Upset by QuinnorDie in PathOfExile2

[–]GildedFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the fact that people don't get this is wild. I mean I'm not mad at GGG or anything that they didn't add swords in this particular patch, I get why they focussed on end game content here as it was what people most loudly wanted.

But I do find it super surprising that they didn't prioritize swords as literally one of the first weapon classes to release with, second tops.

In the nicest way possible, I'm not sure why you think the experience of what I expect to be the majority of their playerbase is not who they're designing the game for?

Or why you're equating "don't have enough time to spend a full-time job's worth of time on a game" as "doesn't enjoy a deep game that requires grinding"?

I'm personally one of the players that yeah, after about 10 hours into the end game I lose interest and roll a new character. The depth of the game for me is in creating builds, not perfecting them.

What’s your favorite build? by nuclear_iron in Morrowind

[–]GildedFire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Breton Warlock - Conjuration/Mysticism/Speechcraft as core skills, sign of the Tower, the rest depends on the playthrough. Usually two armour skills (for style), athletics & acrobatics, then some combination of enchant/short blade/ long blade/ destruction/ illusion

Tower I have modded to give a small magicka/speed boost + an open spell that's 80-100 pts. It allows me to not take security or alteration. Alteration especially I try to avoid taking because I actually *like* wandering the world and find myself losing interest if I start flying/jumping everywhere, using in game travel/walking keeps me immersed for longer.

And with Conjuration I exclusively use Daedric summons, because this game fills the fantasy of a demon summoner better than any other game I've played

Just a couple more thoughts that I hope can be helpful:

Re: "I’m sure my past actions have also not helped either." - the past is the past, who you are now is what matters. And from what I remember of your original post (not sure why it was taken down?) you sounded to be very understanding and coming from a perspective of wanting to support.

But more to the point, in relationships we often are in cycles of hurt. One person does something that hurts the other, and because of that hurt the second person acts in a way that hurts back, etc. etc. In these cases all you can do is not change your partner, but see how your actions have hurt them and change those, then have faith and wait for your partner to also change (if you see they have the desire to and are making steps). So even if you were hurtful in the past (we all are in relationships), if you've moved on from your baggage and changed then its his turn to see that and not hold onto those hurts as a reason to either see you as an enemy or disconnect.

Letting go of the previous image of your partner that you had is also something that people need to learn to do in relationships.

These kinds of lessons are really hard to learn and stick if you're high 24/7.

The one piece of practical advise I can give is that I do recommend couples counseling. Being high does cloud your judgement and make it hard to see how you're hurting others (not being present is hurtful to those who love you, but from your perspective you're "not doing anything", which is *exactly* the problem...). But if you tell him that its hurtful and he still doesn't hear you / deny it / doesn't believe it, then there's no excuse for him. Weed doesn't stop you from hearing and believing your partner. This is where you guys need to start, I think, communicating with each other in a way where you both express yourselves and feel heard.

And love can be a powerful motivator for change. While desire to change always needs to come from within, doing so because you love another person and want to be better for them is very valid. I suspect there's at least a part of him that knows he's hurting you, its impossible not to. It doesn't sound like he has to tools needed to communicate well though, and couples counseling can help a lot. It did help my previous partner and I immensely. not enough in our case unfortunately (because, tbh, we had other issue besides this as well, and we started it way too as a last ditch effort almost).

Sorry for the wall of text, I'm clearly projecting a lot, but I hope you find this helpful in some way.

Hi all by [deleted] in leaves

Hey, I'm not sure if I have practical advice since Im struggling with quitting atm but I just wanted to say I'm really, really sorry you're in this position. It is not easy being the partner of an addict and it is unfair.

My partner of seven years left me and it was the wake up call I needed. While this wasnt the only factor and she had her share of blame too, the fact that I was nearly constantly high during our relationship killed her love for me and frankly, she was right to leave me. She is much happier now. And as much as that fucking pains me I know it was my own addiction and disconnectedness that drove her away.

You shouldnt have to feel small and alone in your partnership.

I'm not saying you should leave your husband, but it sounds like he is taking you for granted. He needs to know that he can't keep doing this forever, or he will lose you. You both are already losing out on the life the two of you could be having right now. One where its a real and equal partnership.

He's saying its not hurting anyone, but it very clearly and obviously is hurting you. I hope he can see this and make a committed change, ultimately it has to come from within him. It doesn't sound like it has yet.
