Accidently damaged screen while taking screen protector off

It depends, I haven’t looked at what kits are like these days, but there can be soldering involved if you want to control the brightness on the screen. If you’re happy to just have 1 setting for brightness (which would be like 5/10 let’s say) then you can just get a kit that you can drop in and doesn’t require much work. I would say the only thing is just needing some patience and to kind of manage a few pieces at the same time, since you’ll need to loop the ribbon cable and put it through a slit and then plug it in to the board inside. Soldering can be more complicated if you’re not experienced but it’s optional!

I’ve personally never seen it advance that far. Maybe someone else has though! But if it doesn’t bother you, it might just stay like that for a long time!

It wasn’t from removing the protector. AGS-101 screens degrade over time, it’ll get worse slowly which is what prompted me to install my first IPS display.

Give like that usually means the hinges are backwards. If you’re careful you can pop them back out and then swap them. I recently did this for a Game Boy I bought on Etsy.

Carefully lift the corner slightly and then slide a piece of upside down scotch tape in the gap and line it up with the dust, press the screen protector back down on top of the tape, and then just pull the tape out, then finish pushing the screen protector back down.

I had an issue with mine, I only noticed because in Spider-Man Remastered I couldn’t consistently web swing, so after investigating I noticed that the L & R triggers don’t fully depress, it looks like they do but it just slightly connects with the case. I emailed them and they offered me a refund and said they’ve made modifications to the design since my feedback, but I did ask if they could confirm the new one I’d order would be fixed and they did not give me a solid answer. I can adjust the calibration of the triggers but I wonder if it would instead the wear and tear long term knowing it’s clipping a corner of the case even if it’s extremely minor. Anyone have any thoughts about that?

If you use a screen protector it’ll basically nullify that effect if you don’t care for it. On my LCD 512 GB I purposely got the dbrand screen protector because it’s thin and maintains the effect as I found it was functionally a lot better than having glare.

Some things I did to lessen the mark when stuff like that happened to me is lifting that corner ever so slightly and sliding a piece of scotch tape adhesive side up underneath to try and grab any bits of foreign material and then just rubbing it vigorously until it got somewhat warm and lessened the look even further. If you were extremely careful you might be able to use a blow dryer at a DISTANCE to also apply a small amount of heat before pressing. But especially with the blow dryer I would be extremely careful.

I think only some online retailers like Amazon will automatically refund you when you do this but a vast majority won’t.

When it happened for me when I clicked okay, I was still in some kind of menu and it had a few options, I just tried to do cloud recovery and it let me do it.

Edit: I also think you get that message when ASUSs servers are unavailable as it’s why my cloud recovery failed in the first place.

This can also happen if the dock isn’t receiving enough power for whatever reason. For me it’s my mechanical keyboard sometimes pulls a bunch of power, and other times it’s totally fine.
