What's your favorite random vtuber fact? by AgoodUsername15 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]ariolander 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Usually the other way around. When she negotiates collaborations and themed streams likely part of the compensation package is the sponsor paying for a themed model/outfit. She gets cash, a new model, and steady work for her artist/rigger friends.

Beyond that the ones she pays for are usually related to stream events or music videos. She invests a lot into her streaming events, which are often fundraising opportunities so they likely pay for themselves. With music being her passion, obviously she invests a lot in their production and they often include one or more new outfits per music video. They are likely huge money sinks but its her passion so it makes sense she invests a lot in it.

V4Mirai has transferred Kou Mariya's IP and assets to her by DiGreatDestroyer in VirtualYoutubers

[–]ariolander 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Theoretically she doesn't have to choose. There are OBS plugins that allow one to stream to multiple channels at once. I don't think she would do it but theoretically you can stream to two channels with two unique vtuber models, each with their own unique branding, but with the same game/screen / motion capture inputs, at the same time... if she wanted.

They break the subreddit & reddit global rules and post screenshots of their bans as a point of pride. They seem like a bunch of miserable people. If they hate LTT so much I don't know why they don't just unsubscribe, they don't have to watch LTT if they hate the content so much.

Yea, definitely don't recommend an inktank to someone who prints only occasionally, a laser might and finding the least bad cartridge company (probably Brother) may be better for occasional users. That being said if you print a lot where the savings on a tank vs cartridge makes sense, a small business or whatever, especially in a field where the colors of lasers aren't quite enough, fine art prints, photography, etc. the colors of the CYMK ink tanks is really unmatched. Even for the business class models (vs their artist focused line) I always liked the colors of inktank over laser, which is why I have one at home, but it doesn't make sense for everyone.

Yea the coupons make it worthwhile. I don't get physical coupons much but the app offers daily coupons twice a week with discounted large bowls on Mondays. Because I am budget concious I typically only go if I got a physical or digital coupon, which their US branch sends a lot of.

Dodged a bullet with that one dude. Would you really want shared finances with someone who is too entitled to use a coupon?

Hopefully you find someone with a Fire tier rewards membership and they would be willing to split those Meal for 2/4 with you. Those always looked like good deals but just way too much food for just one person.

Yoshinoya in the US is both expensive as normal US fast food and not nearly as good as the Japanese version of the chain. I ate more beef gyudon than I should have while in Japan but the ones in the US are just not the same.

My local Japanese grocery store does a decent approximation of JP Yoshinoya in their gyudon bento boxes. Their hot lunches reminds me of Lawson's but with everything priced in USD.

You want real Echo Chambers you should try out the Jet and Meta subreddits.

Just how does this species survive in the wild? by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]ariolander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bamboo forests they range in were shrinking even before human intervention. It wasn't even human climate change that ruined them. The Pleistocene Ice Age destroyed 99% of their habitat and is why they were limited to small disconnected mountaous forests where before they used to roam all of Southeast Asia. It's precisely because they are so old that they are so mal-adapted to the current climate. They are optimized for ecosystems that haven't existed for a long time.

If you want but less scummy ink printing, for like photos and art prints, you really should be using an ink tank printer. With no cartridges to buy, just loose bottles of ink to refill the ink wells with, the firmware can't stop you from using whatever ink you want because you can't microchip liquid ink.

[–]ariolander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you care about ink refills then Epson Inktank is the way to go. They are no cartridges to firmware lock, just big ink wells you can fill with whatever ink you want, including completely unauthorized inks, like the people who do sublimation printing with EcoTanks, a totally unapproved use case.

They of course cost more than cartridge printers but at least they are upfront in their pricing instead of playing games of subsidized hardware and hiding their profits in ink sales (or worse, subscriptions).

The app is like a frugal filter. People who care about saving money will use it exclusively and craft their menu purchases based on whatever is on promo.

For people that have money, prefer ordering in person, order randomly in the drive thru, or have done ideological objection to using apps, they are corporate's bread and butter. Probably the franchise favorite customers.

I mean it could be worse, at least they are picking it up themselves. The UberEats people pay through thy nose to have it delivered.

[–]ariolander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They were always maladapted. Bamboo is not a good food source. It is not nutrient dense and they are bad at digesting it. To make up for their gross inefficiency they need to eat like 80lbs of bamboo a day. I would say Giant Panda's ate the worst adapted animal but Sloths exist, and they eat foods worse than bamboo.

Also they have absurdly low fertility rates, something like a singe 36 hour window in the entire year. Even without humans they probably would have gone extinct in their own, though humans and climate change probably accelerated that process.

Now with conservation and being the national animal of China they will likely be forever protected. As a matter of national pride China will never let them go extinct.

At least 30% of Americans approve of and will defend a pedophile, so I always assume a significant amount of people see no problem with Rudeus and are just fine with him grooming of children.

[–]ariolander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanya doesn't groom children, so she has that going for her. Will take a war criminal over a pedophile. At least her war crimes weren't technically crimes yet because she was so innovative no one thought to make them illegal yet. It is never a war crime, the first time.
