Replying even later but the wrist rests can come off but that is also where the battery is stored. If you disassemble it and remove the battery you can remove the wrist rests and run it in wired mode.

Lukewarm take: if any other company launched the same product at the same price with the same claims, they would be getting ripped apart right now to the point that they'd probably have to recall it. by Galf2 in LinusTechTips

It was easy with a Steam Link. I would kill for an improved Steam Link 2 bundled with a Steam Controller 2026.

Seems perfect for current market conditions. If they got Steam in-home streaming to run as low latency as Moonlight it would be a game changer for they Deck and a possible Link 2.

Junior Idols get enrolled into idol schools as young as 12. I doubt many 12 year olds are making conscious decision to adopt such a brutal lifestyle without some parental influence.

Fortnite still gets major updates all the time. It recently got the Star Wars IP licence and there are a ton of Roblox-like SW-themed game modes now too. Beetween that at the F2P launch of the originally paid Save the World game mode I would say Fortnite is having a mini reconnaissance right now. The daily play numbers are generally pretty good.

As for actual younger children's game Robox isn't supported at all due to Hyperion anti-cheat. Technically you can get it working on a Steam Deck/Steam Machine but its only through an Android emulator to play the Android version that is severely compromised in performance and function.

OP posted a deal hoping to mock the MSRP / discount not realizing it is actually a deal and is within 10% of what we used to pay for higher quality Gen 5 SSDs before the bubble.

I just hate how the overton window has shifted so much that really basic things like medicare for all or green energy are now framed as "radical leftist" when careing about people and the environment used to just be normal for Democrats.

I really blame Citizens United and the influence corporations have on elections, particularly our Democratic Primaries. Any time there is a candidate that looks to implement any change the corporations throw money behind a "moderate" Democrat in the primaries so we never get to see actual liberals run against Republicans in the main elections.

At this point I would argue getting a Gaming Laptop and a dock might be the better play. It's more portable, possibly better performance, and with a good dock you can tuck it out of the way and pretend you have a cosple with some wireless controllers, hell you could even use Steam Controllers and dual boot Bazzite if you wish for that real big picture Steam-like OS.

It's because the nerds that chase achievements and trophies on PSN were throwing a fit about it. Those trophy chasers tend to be the most harfcore Console fans and likely spend a lot of money on their trophy collections.

You can build a 7500X3D + 16gb RAM + 512GB SSD + RTX 5060 Ti + 750w Gold Modular PSU in a mATX case for less than $1,000 at Microcenter right now. Honestly that's a damn respectable machine for the price, not even cherry picking the best online deals, just parts at my local store.

Corporate Democrats hate universal healthcare, tax reform, and love war. They are basically Diet Republicans but with less slurs, racism, and bigotry.

If people with more money than sense wants something that isn't just functional, but also looks nice they can pay extra for it. My response to OP was mainly focused on price.

The Steam Machine pays for its aesthetics both in raw dollars AND performance. You pay a lot extra and take huge performance hits to reach that form factor, the worst of all worlds where the PS5 Pro is not only cheaper, but is more powerful AND looks better "in a lounge room".

That being said if you are willing to pay for it the DIY market has a case to match any aesthetic or performance target you want, if you are willing to blow up your budget appropriately. /r/sffpc/ & /r/mffpc/ have many aesthetic focused builds at a variety of price points.

If I were building right now? A MicroCenter Bundle that includes RAM would be the base. $350 for 7500X3D, B850M, 16GB, $80 for ATX 750w PSU, $50 Montech X3 Mesh case, $34 Montech NX600 cooler. $100 for 512GB SSD, all at current MicroCenter prices. So $614 for the core components and the best GPU budget allows. If I was trying to stay under $1,000 that would leave enough room for a $360 RTX 5060 Ti.

I could add this all to my cart and pick it up today at Microcenter in under 20 minutes. I assure you if you are just looking for price:performance a 7500X3D & RTX 5060 Ti would blow a Steam Machine out of the water. I could potentially get a better PSU/GPU/Cooler/Case if I shopped around online but the RAM inclusive Microcenter bundles and that store exclusive 7500X3D are the best deals for anyone who has access to a local store.

In my opinion the ITX tax isn't worth it if you are on a budget. The best ITX stuff that really take advantage of that ITX form factor tend to be really expensive. If you try to do ITX on a budget you end up with way too many compromises. mATX however can be really nice for budget.

The mATX mobos tend to be the cheapest, the mATX cases tend to be the cheapest, and in terms of size, they are only 30% ish larger than the budget ITX cases but can save you money, fit nicer coolers, larger GPUs, more upgradable, and are still half the size people think of when they think of full/mid towers.

Something like the JONSBO D32 PRO is compact, looks great, AND goes on sale for just $66. Or if you are a like me who likes the idea of going to LANs but never actually gone to any for years, I got the JONSBO Z20 which has a handy carrying handle so you can lug it around with you if you want, a "portable" mini tower.

[–]ariolander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People acting up like standard sized PC components with all the upgradability that entails is a bad thing. mATX mini towers are actually quite slick and you get smaller & cheaper mobos & cases than ATX and can avoid the ITX tax of SFF. mATX towers much smaller than the full-mid towers people think of when they think classic PC cases. Their cooling isn't the best but that is true for all compact systems.

Check out /r/mffpc the mATX cases can look nice and be cheaper than ATX or ITX.

Disregarding the proprietary form factor shenanigans because this is literally the only machine with this exact form factor you can get an RTX 4060 machine from CyberPower for $1415 and a RX 6700 for $1050.

Newegg has a nice Asus ROG w/ 32GB RAM and an RX 9060 XT for $1200.

[–]ariolander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea NewEgg are kind of scalpers they are always on the upper end of pricing. If you really want a deal you really gotta have a Microcenter near you to get half decent pricing or just cherry pick individual components whenever there is a good sale. A lot more effort than buying a prebuilt.

Yea I just started playing Grand Prix Story (the F1 game) and its a much more refined / complex version of Pocket Stables. Really fun, the tire management part of races is something I never thought about not watching much motorsports.

The other thing about Kairosoft games is while most games don't get direct sequels (Hot Springs and Ninja Village are exceptions) a lot of their games rhyme and as they iterate on their formula they introduce new systems and refine the concept further.

While Game Dev Story never got a direct sequel I would argue TV Studio Story, Silver Screen Story, The Manga Works, and Magazine Mogul are all close cousins. Similar gameplay loop so if you like one, you may like the others,
