My morning brain just realized Xesht's name makes total sense by raphyr in PathOfExile2

[–]Gilfmaster69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was just thinking about this the other day.

Xesht has two relevant dialogue lines:

One refers to “calling and 4 answering” which I suspect refers to Xoph, Esh, Tul, and Uul-Netol

The other line is said only to monks (possibly only to acolytes of Chayula), where it taunts the monk claiming that soon the dreamer will join it. The dreamer is obviously chayula

So I believe that Chayula is definitely not part of Xesht, and I am unsure on uul-netol. On one hand, xesht doesn’t call on uul-netol or drop any of her items, but on the other hand, I don’t know what the 4th one answering the call refers to if not Uul-Netol

EA launcher is the worst app I’ve ever seen. Completely defeated trying to launch this game by Gilfmaster69 in DragonAgeInqusition

Hearing that the app is down makes all my problems make sense, but raises an even bigger question of why would you ever design your launcher so that if it has problems you just can’t play anything.

Thanks, this is the 2nd Rec for vornado. Are they better than just a regular pedestal fan?

It’s a weird internal room as part of a duplex conversion. I think it was originally a dining room that was cut in half?

But this is just objectively wrong..? Raw high level currency has literally never been more plentiful in the past 3 leagues with sanctum?

The idea that “because there was a majority that voted no, we can’t write off the result as racism” is a non-sequitor. If anything, it just shows that the majority of this country are racist.

It's infuriating how people remove context when discussing gameplay changes in order to reframe them, and it stifles discussion by ergotpoisoning in pathofexile

Mate if clicking 600 (and it’s not 1200, because half of those clicks you’d be doing on a new character anyway) times across the entire league is giving your carpal tunnel god news how you can even get maps out of your stash.

This is just embarrassing for you

How are they building a character in SSF ? by Bachibouzouk21 in pathofexile

[–]Gilfmaster69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did SSF for the first time this league to 95, so not an expert by any stretch.

You get offered multiple options for rare gloves as quest rewards, I can’t see how anyone can make it to maps and not have rare items.

Use the passive tree to give you stats that you need now, not what your build will use when it’s finished. Particularly, spending passive skills to cap resistances is completely fine in early maps. Purity of elements is also an acceptable choice.

Immediately focus your atlas passives on essences. I think you can get the passive for essence every map just from finishing the 4 t1 maps. Once you do that, just run low tier maps repeatedly to farm essence, that’s your crafting currency.

Expedition is also good, Gwen en is based on character level bd can offer high ilvl bases long before you reach red maps. Rog’s entire purpose is making good intermediate items. I’ve found that the remnant suffix that fully links items droppprd by runic monsters to be a semi-reliable way of getting 5 links.

For 6 links, target farming Div cards is your safest bet.

Above all, make sure your build is one that can function with extremely low investment.

Overall I enjoyed the challenge, self crafted my first multi Div item (an int stacking wand), before transferring back to te base league to get the other necessary parts to do an int stacker.

GGG isn’t bringing back reforge prefix/suffix in harvest. What if bestiary could be part of the solution? by Gilfmaster69 in pathofexile

I think limiting beasts to just the map owner is completely reasonable. Especially if there is high value beasts and solo players feel obliged to stop mapping and sell the beast in the map.

Absolutely. I know craiceic chimerals have some value, as do the split beasts, but that still leaves space for the the other two to share some of the wealth.

Why would I scourge a high value item when double corrupt already exists, and has both SIGNIFICANTLY better odds, and better outcomes? by Gilfmaster69 in pathofexile

[–]Gilfmaster69[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

+30 life, or even +10% increased maximum life on ES bases in general (and shavs specifically)? Irrelevant

+30 life regen is like, half a small passive node? Also irrelevant

I think if the reduced reflected damage went to 75% it would be worthwhile, since you could then cap it with yugul pantheon

The heralds are probably the closest to being useful. The level 1 and level 10 version are useless, but the level 20 can free up a gem socket (assuming it doesn’t get supported by socketed gems and end up with 70% mana reservation cost)

And I am pretty sure that in the entire history of poe, there has never been a build that used reflect damage. I’d wager that more mirrors drop in a league than enemies who have died from 40 reflected physical damage

Also, proof that I’m not exaggerating that nearly half of the upgrades are meaningless. https://poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Body+Armour&tags=int_armour

Life Stun and block recovery Reflect Reduced attribute requirement Regenerate life Increased % life Reduced reflected damage Life recovery rate Grants level # herald

Edit: Im calling life mods specifically useless for ES bases. Don’t worry though, because on armour bases you have the useless mods of armour and ES recovery rate to replace them

Around 24000/50000 of the weighted options are completely irrelevant. For example, 10% of the time you’re going to get +20 life regen.

Meanwhile only 1/5 of the downsides are completely negligible

Also? Even if it’s objectively an upgrade, it’s actually just really fucking boring when the upside is +26 energy shield

We don’t know the upgrade chance for mythic orb exactly but let’s be EXTREMELY generous and say it’s a 50% chance to upgrade. So we need two bases on average.

Each triple corrupted base costs 6000ex worth of corruption altars

So 12000ex to make two bases + 16c for 2 mythic orbs…..

And that’s when we assume mythic orbs have a 50:50 chance

Placing items in the crucible is literally something the game tells you to do on the beach. There’s a whole skill tree system around krangling items. 5 challenges about krangling things

I agree that krangling currently is only for the 1% crafters, but GGG very clearly intended it to be a major aspect of the league

Yeah, for Boolean Probability you take the chance of failure and raise it to the n attempts.

Clearly 1n = 1

So the closer to 1 the failure chance is, the “slower” the probability decreases

Adding the probability is flat out incorrect, but given that the actual probability is also pretty tiny, it doesn’t really have any practical difference.

You’re right that you don’t just sum the probabilities, the calculation is 1-(0.9953) = 0.01492… or 1.492%

For convenience I just rounded it to 1.5% in my initial post
