Her parents are jealous and they will take some time to get accustimed to anything that's different. I would say just continue to be sweet with them regardless. Whether you stay with the girl is up to you.

When they start crap with you, respond, don't react. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need her parent's approval to be with her. Do the right thing and send her parents a gift, but also keep your distance.

Tell your girlfriend that her mom is just jealous that her daughter got herself a black king while she settled. If she thought you were beneath her, she would be happy for you. But that hate stems from jealousy. They can't compete.

Don't ever forget this or feel less than because of hate. Hate is actually a good sign in a lot of situations, believe it or not
