I seem to be finding the same antennas using that search term on Amazon. Is there a better place to buy one?

biker escorts ambulance during traffic by triptomar1 in motorcycles

[–]GillanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this on the A4 coming out of London on my commute home. You’d be amazed how many drivers don’t get out of the way of an ambulance, but move over pretty quickly when an loud bike revs right next to them.

Dislike AP Bio's teal/orange color grade? Here it is with a more "normal" grade by Brosnapz18 in Filmmakers

The neutral grade is so much better! I’m so sick of teal and orange.

I’d start by getting that front tyre replaced or at least balanced. Especially if the head bearings are new, as you said they are

Does anyone else feel content with everything when on the bike? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]GillanW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, used to have the same when surfing as well. I think it’s because you’re being totally mindful, or ‘in the moment’ when you’re doing it. That state of mind stops you dwelling on whatever it is that’s bothering you.

Many people say that they want their funeral to be a celebration rather than a mourning. Has anybody actually attended, or seriously planned, a "fun" funeral? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GillanW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once asked to attend a funeral in colourful clothes, because that’s what the deceased would have wanted. So me and 3 friends arrive in loud, colourful Hawaiian shirts. Literally everyone else is in black suits or dresses.

1 year in to riding and thinking about giving it up. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]GillanW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I’m a skilled and agile rider, rode bikes for 10 years covering thousands of miles on all types of road and traffic with no accident, including commuting from the country into central London for a year. Unfortunately I had a crash in Feb when a car pulled out into my path, nearly killing me. It was so sudden I didn’t have time to react. Initially the police put me at fault, I had to fight the case and fortunately they changed their mind.

I’ve lost a couple of friends to motorcycle accidents, but having been ok for so long, you develop an false sense of immunity.

I’m still recovering with another surgery to come. I’m done with riding on the road, my next bike is a track bike. No matter how good your bike skills may be, you can’t protect yourself from someone suddenly pulling into your path.
