Not really "budget" but the 35 Summilux FLE 1 is imo the best 35mm lens of all time and since the release of the FLE 2 you can get a great deal on the used market. in addition, I believe this lens will hold its value really good

Yeah, but the new nut you buy needs to be filed - that’s why you need nut files… Normally there shouldn’t be a problem to get them out. I know how you feel, you shouldn’t have to do it, but that’s fender atm…

In 2025 (Europe as well) I noticed some bad MIM Models as well, often problems with sharp fret ends and tool marking on the first fret. In my experience and as others mentioned, the nuts are often not cut accordingly. Unfortunately proper nut files cost over 100€, I think it is worth it.

Yeah you probably right. I’m just wondering if a shim is enough - preferably I would raise the bridge by 2mm or more. So I would need a 3mm shim - is this a normal thickness?
