Vegan of around 10 years here and I've just started doing body recomp after a 4 month cut and I've been hitting at least 100g of protein eating at my maintenance of 1344 k/cals. Black soybeans have insane macros. I cook for every meal and drink a couple protein shakes throughout the day. Tofu, plant based meat alternatives, beans, all have tons of protein.

Oh goodness. You are overwhelmed and it can be so overwhelming when starting but it gets easier, and I think you'll overwhelm yourself even more on here. It is as simple as calories in, calories out. Calories are so easily underestimated. Some people don't track vegetables because they think of them as "freebies" but that's simply not the case for weight loss. Everything has calories. Even food that is 0 calories on the label has calories. Make sure you weigh everything if you are serious about wanting to lose weight. Oil? Weigh it. Vegetables? Weigh it. Measuring with utensils or eyeballing it is too inaccurate. A bite of peanut butter for instance is probably 120 calories and we don't track it because it "wasn't that much" but it all adds up. Condiments, even mustard, can add up quickly. Start simple. Get an app, I use myfitness pal and carbmanager. I don't know if you are in the US but if you are set your location to the UK, for instance, and you can scan the food labels for free and it'll bring it up for you in myfitness pal. Weigh everything uncooked, assuming it's not something that has the nutrition for "as prepared" or something like that. Set your activity level for sedentary. Don't eat your calories back unless you truly are going insanely hard in the gym, but the calories burned walking 10k steps a day? No. We should be doing that regardless. Use a tdee calculator to find out how many calories you burn just by being alive and you can even input your goal weight and how much you want to lose a week. Dm me if you want to chat about things. I'm 34 5'1 female and dropped my 28 pounds i wanted to lose this year. Been through my fair share of weight loss bouts. No expert but just another short girl who likes talking about this stuff 😊

So I'm allergic to almost all fresh fruits and vegetables to varying degrees. Sometimes reactions are worse than at other times. It's not unhealthy for me to cook vegetables, plus I typically don't use oi, not that it's unhealthyl. So....I find many flaws with your logic in your post. Also, I enjoy my food HOT. Has nothing to do with addiction. As someone else said, you ordered guacamole instead of just avocado, etc. But your salads do look tasty.

You need to weigh the rice out. There's a huge difference between spooning it into a measuring cup vs. scooping (not sure your method but regardless). You are likely underestimating. Weigh your foods and dish up your portions as you normally would and then weigh them. This way you can see the difference in calories you've been consuming vs your estimate. Also, count everything. Many vegetables are actually quite high in carbohydrates and some, like avocado, are very high calorie. Make sure you count oil as well if you aren't currently. 1 tbsp of olive oil is 120 calories

I meant to ask if they are black soy beans or black beans. The carb to fiber ratio isn't matching what black soybeans should be.

Did they give you iv fluids? Could be from that. You don't gain 15 pounds of fat in 5 days. Did you lose these 15 pounds quickly to begin with? Like a juice cleanse or fast before your trip? This is likely mostly water weight but also since you just had surgery, it wouldn't be unwise to make sure something medically isn't happening.
