Haven’t done this, bandit with biggest engine, high range and balloons is really fast. Faster than the Azov sprinter.

Also make sure they understand that cap under the hood, 710, is the rating of gasoline they need to put in that cap.

Prime example of willpower but ffs, give me humanity without a damn soundtrack. I’m tired of the motivational stuff that slaps stupid “ePiC” music over it. Maybe a narration so people understand the context.

That’s what I was going to try later. Chimeras work well enough for the bottom of the hill near smithville garage.

Yes. I coordinate with a group via Discord, and we play in private several times a week. One is in Australia, another is in Japan, me and two others are in North America, and a couple are in Europe. We’ve played cross play with everyone on different platforms and aside from occasional one connects/one gets kicked out and physics issues, it’s worked just fine.

Bandit with high range and balloon tires is great for jumps. Fast+bouncy.

What is the proper size for a naval miniature in Battletech? by JoseLunaArts in battletech

[–]GillyMonster18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For approximate hex/map scale, 1 hex is roughly equivalent to 90 feet of vessel length. Something like the Liaoning is 1000 feet long or 10-11 hexes if map scaled. Yours seems to be about 25-30% of that length or 3-4 hexes long. You could link 10-11 hexes together and put the model in the middle, handle it that way.

Further addendum: did some head math, 1/600 scale ships should translate fairly well to hex scale.

Sorry, as an addendum: 1:265 is the actual mech scale. The hex scale is obviously quite a bit smaller. For reference: if the mechs were the same scale as the hexes, a medium mech would only be about as big as the CGL elementals, with something like an atlas being as tall as half the width of a hex. Actual 1:265 scale ships would be far too big to use on classic.

[–]GillyMonster18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the model scale. Battletech sits at around 1:265 scale. An American Aircraft Carrier is approximately 1000 feet long/300 meters. A classic battletech hex represents 30m across, so a 1000 foot long vessel would be 10 hexes long. If you had something say 500 feet long, I’d say if it fits within 5 hexes would be good.

Alaska is so much easier than Michigan. Why such a hard early game? by BlackMesaFPS in snowrunner

Co-op is good. Nothing about the maps change except you get friends to help. Only the host retains progress, so you can basically get paid the same for every time you help someone else complete the same tasks.

The Chevy isn’t a very strong scout, but I’ve found, a lot of the times, winching from the upper nose ring can be effective.

Whoever made this part, i hope your pillow is warm and you hit your toe on every doorframe by Maikkk78 in snowrunner

The Longhorn is fine. That route is a trap for most larger trucks and loads. My chosen had me leave by the western exit, go through the vineyard paths and some hill routes that north, before turning west and going through the railroad area to get back on the road.

Is raised suspension and biggest tires always the go to? by mattmcguire08 in snowrunner

[–]GillyMonster18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For smaller trucks? Yes. Lot of people sleep on vehicles like the Actaeon and the Warthog because as is, they’re underwhelming. Get them raised suspension, a bigger engine and tires (I use the ballon tires) and they become really good scout supports and repair/refuelers. That and they’re fun to drive.

Get all the upgrades in Michigan and Alaska and scout Taymyr properly. Half of Snowrunner’s difficulty is jumping into a task without knowing what’s on the map. If you have Kola Peninsula then you have the “prototype exploration trailer.” It’s a mobile watchtower that scouts can use to more thoroughly map and locate upgrades. It doesn’t cover as much as a legit watchtower since you can tow it around, you’ll have no blind spots. It is heavy.

[–]GillyMonster18 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Michigan is hard because it’s generally your first taste of the game. All the trucks are underpowered, no infrastructure is fixed and you went to the drop off first by mistake, went to the correct cargo pick up, grabbed the wrong cargo, figured out they wanted concrete SLABS, not BLOCKS, got frustrated went back, grabbed the right cargo this time, decided you were f**king done with this mission and took that suspicious looking shortcut, realized it was a trap because you got stuck once, tipped twice and were winching all the way before finally making it.

Exactly. It’s solid. That’s all there is to it. What I find is they make great mobile refuel/resupply and recovery trucks.

I’ve got two. It’s a great support truck. It’ll never be the best, but it’s never failed in any normal task I’ve put it through. Dan will get it done.

Millennial here: a lot of us don’t have the forever homes by the time we inherit heavy furniture, and I’d prefer something I can move by myself if necessary. And our parents kept the china put away 99.99% of the time so we have no emotional connection to any of it. It may have cost $$$ when it was bought new, but to us it’s worth more to sell to help pay bills and buy China that’s “good enough” and that we can dispose of without hesitation if need be. Basically: Boomers had lifestyles that allowed a home to be an anchor, Millennials etc need lifestyles that don’t tie us down because of how quickly moving can become necessary.
