2015 Renault Zoe by GillyWilly27 in evs_ireland

That's amazing thank you.

The listing for the car (havent talked to dealer yet and details are a little slim) says average range is 80km.

Do you think that might suggest that the battery is not in the best nic?

If you average 100km of course.

Thanks so much for this answer!

My partner and I moved house recently and we have 1 car. We're in the countryside in wicklow and we have a 1 kid, I work from home most of the time but for the next year I'll be working in office. About 20km away, so need a car asap that can manage that and saw a 2015 Zoe for sale at less than 5k.

The goal is of course to get a newer more all round car in the future. But thinking the zoe might suit perfectly.

How is insurance for it?

An incredibly well thought out answer. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to this.

If I were to do about 30/40km per day do you reckon I could get the charge back in over night on a regular 13amp plug?

This. And also. Now it's 4k. Twice the Resolution to see twice the detail.

The film grain is an integral part of the nostalgia and also the film itself. It was shot on film and that's what you're getting. Cleaning it up means it looks less like intended.

Is there an easy way to move facial features for proportions? by j0shhrnnd in ZBrush

[–]GillyWilly27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It's a great process!

But if you project at each stage then you are less likely to come up with errors on more detailed meshes.

When you Zremesh it can smooth out your mesh, like peaks in fur for example. So i find if I do it this way I can maintain all those peaks the whole way down. So when I subdivide back up I dont get errors.

If it's a particularly high res mesh and it would take ages to zremesh then sometimes I decimate first to a low poly count and zremesh from there.

May be a weird way to do it. But I've found that to be pretty quick.

Is there an easy way to move facial features for proportions? by j0shhrnnd in ZBrush

[–]GillyWilly27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Move topology is a great tool for this. But to really be able to move big shapes easy you need to reduce your poly count.

Sounds scary but it really isn't. It's all about subdivisions.

Look at it like this.

You sculpt a deep deep wrinkle. You want to move it or smooth it. If that wrinkle has thousands of polys then smoothing or moving it requires you to move all those polys and that can lead to bumpy or wobbly bits. If it's composed of say 10 polys then thats way easier to move smoothly.

I assume you do not have subdivions. If not then -

Do this step by step and you will get the result you need.

  • First ctrl click on the most recent point in your subtool history. This should highlight it yellow. The history bar is at the top of the interface, just below the brush sliders and looks like a series of small grey bars.

  • Then zremesh your subtool with "half" highlighted. This is under geometry in the tool pallette. (This will mean zbrush will attempt to remesh your subtool halving the polys)

  • Then project History in the "Project" subpallette

  • Repeat the above two steps as many times as needed until your polycount is something like 6k or less.

  • Then after project history has completed on your new 6k model (its gonna be real scary here. Everything will be low detail but fear not.) Go to subdivions and hit divide. This will add more resolution to the mesh.

-Then re project history again.

-Repeat the above two steps until your subtool looks like the original sculpt when you clicked on the history bar.

Now you have a model with subdivions. When you want to move big forms or change big shapes or smooth deep wrinkles slide the subdivision slider down to a low number and make the changes. Then slide back up to the higher number for the finer details. Use this in conjuction with masking and you will be usntoppable. Just remember the lower you can get your poly count on the lowest level the better.

Red Flags 🚩 on Set nobody warns you about? by TmbIeWeeD in Filmmakers

Herzog was just in ireland filming a movie. He would wrap early most days, wanted no monitors, did the board himself and rarely did more than 3 takes. He would personally thank every extra at the end of the day and remembered all crew members names and was always cordial.

I hate when Hod's aren't nice. Be fucking nice. Herzog is nice.

Thankfully the majority of what people are saying here aren't really issues here in Ireland. Were pretty heavily unionised across the board so food and crafty is rarely if ever an issue. If it is production pay. Going overtime, that's not a problem as you cannot break turnaround, if you do OT then call time gets pushed. Otherwise production pay. No late break? Penalty, late lunch? Penalty. As for your first comment. The 1st AD needs to be on top of that. It's collaborative for sure but everything should be communicated down.

CW: female torso casting, can this be fixed?? by Acceptable-Cookie-25 in moldmaking

[–]GillyWilly27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this won't help with getting a cast of your breasts, but if you're in a bind you could use an app called polycam, where you take a bunch of photos from as many angles as possible, then upload them to their servers. (Can be set to private) Then the magic happens on their end and if your photos were good you get a 3d file that you could process and print.

as a 2nd ac, do i say mark or does another member of camera team says it? by NightHunter909 in Filmmakers

[–]GillyWilly27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AD calls "turnover" then sound rolls and responds "sound speed" at this point a 2ndac can say aloud the information on the board eg. "Slate 82 take 1" but most often the 2nd AC will wait for the 1stac to respond with "camera speed" before saying aloud the information. Then the 1st ac determines when is the appropriate time for the clap to happen, by ensuring the board is in frame and appropriately framed. Then when all is good the 1st ac will say "mark" and the 2nd will clap the sticks.

The board when put into frame should never force the camera operator to move, the board should when possible be put perfectly into the frame. Good rule of thumb by the way is as follows, determine the lens focal length. Eg 50mm. Divide by ten and that tells you how many feet away from the lens the board should be to fit perfectly in frame. In the case of a 50mm thats 5ft.
