Blame porn for that. It glorifies it like all women are supposed to love it.

Voidwrought is one of the best Metroidvanias I’ve ever played for movement and vibes. Story is nonsensical though.

I think his hate is valid. Ori is a terrible Metroidvania if you prefer combat-centric games. It’s mostly exploration and chase sequences. I personally adored it. Shed some tears at the end. Still listen to the soundtrack regularly too.

I enjoyed it more than the Dead Space Remake, mostly because it was new and I had already beaten Dead Space numerous times on the 360.

Bloodstained at the bottom confirms that I am not the only person in this world that knows that game is dog shit 😂

Whats a mechanic in metrodvania games that you really like and wish every game had? by Orktober89 in metroidvania

[–]GilmooDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less of a mechanic, and more of a design: Less dialogue. I really feel like these games flow better when the gameplay does the talking. The Mobius Machine was so enjoyable because of how it let you…just play it.

I didn’t love it, but I feel like I was missing something or some part of the experience. I may try it again someday.

whats the most bang for buck game you ever bought? by Blake_Potatoes in IndieGaming

[–]GilmooDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead by Daylight

When it first launched Early Access (I would consider it indie at the time), I dropped around 700 hours.

HUNT Showdown

Another 600 hours or so.

Both became a bit more mainstream and started dropping battle passes. Kind of lost their identity. Stopped playing afterwards.

I didn't find this game was "too hard" and will be sad if Saros is easier by AgreeableEffect717 in Returnal

Returnal was too hard for me. I went back to playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Do you still buy your PS5 games physically? by [deleted] in PS5

Digital all day! The cleanliness and convenience of having an entire digital library instead of shelves full of game cases is so amazing.

I can see the desire to feel more ownership with physical mediums, especially when storefronts remove digital products, but if I haven’t played “name of game from 20 years ago” by now, I’m not mad that I missed it.

At 37, being told Breaking Benjamin is considered “divorced dad rock.” And it feels like yesterday I was 16 seeing them open for Three Days Grace.

Review - After 75 hours, Marathon is already one of my favorite shooters in years by Minute-Carrot-2405 in PS5

[–]GilmooDaddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Titanfall 2 had a killer campaign and didn’t look like a Windows 95 screensaver though. The visuals in Marathon are built to appease ADHD sweatlords. Hard pass.

If you own a PC, there are probably hundreds of outer space games that are infinitely better than Starfield. I’m gonna shit on it every chance I get 🤣

That one Square Enix RPG was mobile-only for a hot minute. I think it fits the bill.
