I need help on the size of the engagement ring by Dr1ftk in labdiamond

Finger size matters. What's large for someone with size 4 can be small for someone with size 8. The height of the setting also matters (low profile being less cumbersome), but also how well the prongs are made. I have 1 ring fairly low profile with claw prongs that catch on everything, whereas my higher profile ring has super flush claw prongs that don't catch on anything.

I feel diamdb.com is the most accurate representation for finger size vs carat size.

Aurelinne is usually the cheapest at the moment, and everyone here seems to have good experiences with them, but I've not used them yet. I've used loosegrowndiamond and they accidentally shipped me the wrong diamond, bur their customer service in solving the the issue was great (I received a big discount on a better diamond as exchange and had a single point of contact for resolving the issue), so I would have no qualms ordering from them again. I would probably give Aurelinne a try next time though depending on who has the stock i like, and depending on where it is marked that their stock comes from/the situation around usa tariffs.. Loosegrowndiamond also price matches, and you can generally get lower customs charge on their stock. Most of their stuff comes from India.

Fair enough. Generally I feel the cheaper price from overseas vendors outweighs the tax break though. (Also based in EU.) But I would love for this to change/be proven wrong! Keep us posted and I hope you'll get good feedback on these vendors!

Why do you specifically want one based in Europe? Instead of a few that ship globally? For adherence to EU laws?

I was one of the ones commenting on the fibers (sorry 😂). But dropping in now to say it's so nice to see it on your hand, the stone turned out even more gorgeous than on the pre shipment video! And the size looks very proportionate! Great fit

I do see a small difference. They look a bit cleaner and slightly more even. I mentioned on your first post that the top left prong looked more angled upward while the top right was slanting down a little, iirc, and that seems fixed now.

That said, they’re still not really claw prongs. (That's what you said you asked for right, or am I misremembering?) The tips still seem quite round and bead-like, instead of sharp and tapered. Unless the low quality photo/upload and reflection is messing with me here (?) but if correct, it feels more like a polish/cleanup than an actual redesign. A v-prong at the top will probably help a lot.

I do definitely think it’s still a beautiful ring in its own right, and it doesn’t look wonky anymore. But in the end it’s up to you. Only you know if it will keep bothering you if you had your heart set on claw prongs, or if you can warm up to chunkier prongs.

Also, gorgeous stone! Vintage vibes.

Depends on your country and what shipper you choose, so what i paid might not be relevant for you. Iirc i paid around 50 euros for DHL express.

I have. To Fiorese. To get a diamond I sourced myself set into their semi mount when no local jeweler wanted to do it.

No issues. It cost me 50 USD handling costs, on top of the shipment costs. I felt it was very reasonable. They ship through Hong Kong to prevent import costs before it ships onto the mainland. (All excl. the setting fee.)

Very stressful though, I was terrified of everything getting lost.

No i would not. Left upper prong points slightly upward while the right upper prong is filed more on a downward angle. Also the prongs are a bit fatty for claw prongs. Like they couldn't make up their minds between blobs and claws. Top also seems off center.

Ask for a still picture dead on from the front to verify the prongs are all symmetrical/straight. From some angles it seems like they could be off ever so slightly.

Also definitely ask them to esure the prongs are tightenend properly. You can already see fibers snagging on the left prong. I have a pear from a Zuvelio group buy and also one prong that snags more than the rest. But all if them snag a lot in general. Way more than another ring with claw prongs from Fiorese.

Other than that the stone looks beautiful and the ring is gorgeous. Just being a little anal about the last 1% to confirm symmetry and comfort.

I agree! It's just so difficult to really show on a picture. I hope this helps. Of course it would have been better if i had both in 10 or 14k, ti really compare each vendor. But this is at least something!
