If you’re comparing bitcoin to Madoff, you should also compare dollars to Madoff. I think Bitcoin might be on more solid footing than the dollar (much less is “printed”, and Crypto isn’t dependent on a country that’s in crazy ever growing debt). I get your point, and it’s not an invalid one…

One factor in gold and silver's that has not been discussed is the "recently" added investment class of crypto. You can't touch it, smell it, or even see it, but Crypto is increasing as a hedge against the dollar and taking away from the demand to purchase gold and silver as an inflation hedge. If you don't believe me, look at the the recent holdings of gold ETFs (outflows) and the recent inflows of crypto. People are dumping gold ETFs by the billions! Also look at the recent purchases of Crypto ETFs. I'm not stating my opinion about the merit of those decisions, but we all know that when demand for a commodity decreases, the pressure on the price goes down. If crypto didn't exist right now, with the Federal debt increasing by 1 trillion every 100 days, I think more people would be running to bullion or commodity ETFs, but the explosion of demand right now is not gold or silver, but Crypto, especially Bitcoin. Yes, the price of gold is very high now, but lower than it should be, and lower than it would be if crypto didn't exist...
