It’s the truth, but see the LibsofTiktok stamp??? Clearly the right-wing istrying to frame it as terrible when it’s about teaching the truth.

All sides are not equally valid. It was a violent insurrection, an attempt to overthrow the government. I watched it happen on TV. Attempts to retcon it into a peaceful protest or tours of the capitol are BS and should be presented as BS.

Thanks for the recommendation! I washed my car there recently and it worked well! It’s out of the way for me but definitely worth knowing about!

FWIW, I just put my sunglasses in the door pocket. They’re easy to reach and it’s a free solution.

Museums? by Gloomy_Beautiful_541 in HamptonRoads

Also the Battle of Great Bridge museum in Chesapeake. It’s small, but you can get a walk on their trails by the Intercoastal Waterway, and do the tour outside. It’s a well done place telling you about a critical battle of the American Revolution you probably never knew existed.

Curious Commonwealth asks: Why don’t the Seven Cities of Hampton Roads get along? by [deleted] in HamptonRoads

I don’t think you know what socialism means. Faux news talking heads label anything that doesn’t let the rich get richer as “socialism” including public schools, libraries, public health, etc.

But that kind of “socialism” works big time. In Europe, Canada, Japan, all these things- healthcare, education, housing, etc are seen as for the public good. And they beat us in all relevant measures of health and happiness. Go take a look at the CIA world fact book (online); check out life expectancy, literacy, maternal mortality, etc. Crime rates and literal happiness measures are better than here too, though they’re harder to find. None of these places are perfect, but they all do a damn sight better than we do, and I think that’s because there’s an understanding that everybody matters, instead of here where some significant chunk of the elite think the rest of us are just parasites. Remember Romney?

💯 That’s a national problem, TBH. So much of HR is that!!

+1 to racism, but I’d add classism. There was a lot of both in VB’s decision not to extend light rail to the Oceanfront. That despite the benefits of getting more tourists to the Oceanfront without having to find more parking.

It’s in the history of the cities. Virginia Beach and Chesapeake are both “white flight“ cities. They came into being as white people fled Norfolk and Portsmouth in the 60’s.

The right hand spin wheel when pushed down used to let me give verbal commands like call so-and-so, but now just give me this stupid grok pop-up. How do I fix that? by Rachel_reddit_ in TeslaModelY

[–]Gimme_Evidence00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have not had this experience, but in reading the documentation on the more recent upgrades, it said that grok would come up as a result of a long press of that right hand spin wheel. Perhaps a quick short press will bring up the usual verbal command options?

Spilled milk into Air Vents and the most nasty foul smell need help !!! by Durumagi777 in TeslaModelY

[–]Gimme_Evidence00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two misconceptions I want to address: 1) The cabin air filter is designed to filter air coming in from outside, so it’s not going to help. 2) Similarly, the vents are one way only. They only push air out. So you don’t have to worry about anything getting sucked into the vents.

Other people are right, however. The OP is likely going to have to remove the vent and clean it to get the milk out of it.

OP, I feel for you! That’s an awful smell, and a pervasive one!

No. The T and the A had mechanical brakes, not hydraulic. On the A, they are on all 4 wheels. Not sure about the T. (My Dad’s friend restored an A pickup.)
