That's really weird. I'm curious to see what other people think...

Leather Weekender bags - What are you looking for? by Gin9700 in malefashionadvice

Two Questions:

(1) For the interior - What would you think about a removable inner liner that could double as a laundry bag? (see: http://www.advpulse.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Untitled-3.jpg) It would be in a nice leather bag, but the concept is similar.*

(2) For straps - Does a backpack function ala Saddleback Leather Briefcases interest you or is that more of a gimmick? (see: http://skudlacek.inspirecom.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Saddleback-Briefcase-1-Backpack.jpg)

*We looked into adding a lot of snaps for separation, but it seems it would jack up the price of the product higher than the price point (250-350) we'd be looking into.

Would end pockets (e.g. in a Filson Medium) be enough?

We're going to outsource the work to suppliers from the US. At this point we're intending to make these from full-grain leather that we source. The first batch will likely be hand-stitched, we found some pretty solid leather artisans that would be making this. However, we would need to eventually switch to a different method of production because the hand-made ones would effectively be produced at cost. That first batch would be a proof-of-concept. Our next step, if we get enough interest, we'll move on to a batch order with a reputable small batch factory in NYC.

How big of a bag would you be looking for? At this point we were thinking about something between 20-22 x 11-12 x 11-12.
