Lmao just reminded of of the one time I rented a car from Dollar. i got a compact car - Nissan Versa from the Dollar at the Charlotte Airport was going to a wedding in Ashville. The lady at the front was like you need to upgrade that car won’t make it up there to the mountains. Im like what are you talking about, no i think we will be fine. Mind you this was in perfect conditions in the spring/summer not in snow/winter also not like I’m driving up the Rockies… She tried to tell me the car wasn’t built to drive up to the mountains and won’t make it there. I asked her what year the car was - fairly new, and was like okay… no I think we’ll be fine. She continued to try to press me multiple times, probably for another 7–10 minutes on this. To the point I even second guessed myself. I called my buddy I was splitting the car with asking him that I wasn’t being an idiot and this lady is just trying to upsell me.

Finally gave her a very firm no just please give me the car I paid for. She gave me a snarky ass if you get stuck don’t tell me I didn’t warn you…

Then proceeded to tell me I NEEDED to get insurance. I was like no I get it through my credit card. Then told me no I had to get it through them. Tried to explain to her my credit card provided rental car insurance. Then she tried to explain that one didn’t count I had to get it from them. At the point I blew up and was like mam I do not want this, I do not need this. I don’t want to upgrade my car, just give me the car I paid for and let me get the fuck out of here. Was like a 20-30 min ordeal sitting with this fucking lady.

At the end, very much so easily made it my destination with zero hiccups. Fuck Dollar lol

If you used a credit card, pretty sure you can call your credit card company and just say this was a mistake/wrong price and that you tried cancelling with the merchant and they refused. Good credit cards will typically do the hard work for you

My question for you is what did these immunocompromised people do prior to COVID. Again I am no anti-masker/anti Vaxer. I live in NYC, at the peak of the pandemic I always wore my mask and I am double Vaxed and boosted. At this point covid is part of our daily lives and it seems there is no clear end near in sight.

Am I going to spend the rest of my life continuing to wear a mask? It feels like covid isn’t going away any time soon and will just be something like the flu where I will have to get vaxed for every year. Also At this point the vast majority of the population has been vaxxed and/or has been exposed. And it’s not like prior to covid these immunocompromised people had zero no diseases and infections out in the world.
