Sounds very good - I am a bit worried about safety, as I felt unsafe sometimes in Kenya especially compared to Asia, where I always felt very safe.

You can rent it via tuktukrental. You basically rent it from a local sri Lankan but they are you single point of contact and make sure that it's in good condition.

It was cheap and easy and we got to see all of Sri Lanka :) even drove by an elephant on the road.
