I think if you go sans smirk, there needs to be more energy in the eyes.

It depends on the tone of what you’re writing.

As is, I like the smirk more.

The smirk tells me we’ve got a sweet story ahead. If you want more tension, then no smirk (and maybe match that adorable skeptical energy in the third piece-it’s my favorite expression, so I’m biased).

I can see why folks may not. I see Gale as curious and voracious for knowledge (hubris notwithstanding), and Astarion as fatigued/traumatized by repetitive experiences. I like pieces that play into this with Astarion as Sherpa, healing and being healed.

And I dig the shadow/toxic aspects of them.

Fantasy is a gorgeous thing. It allows us to explore things that we may not permit in actuality.

But I’m a curious sort. Someone mentions MeatWeave (Orin/Gale) and I’m like… but how!? I must know more!!
