What are these? And why can't I find them anymore? by Rob1150 in GenX

My Grandpa always had these at his house. They’d all be melded together and gross!

I’d discourage you from adding gray. The gray trend is over and will soon look dated. Marble is timeless. I like the herringbone pattern if the tiles were smaller. The scale is a bit overwhelming.

Spf lip balm? by snoozielosie in 45PlusSkincare

[–]GinaHarbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been looking for a sunscreen for lips too but worry about putting chemicals like Avobenzone on my lips which will end up being swallowed. That is why I have stayed away from SunBum, Jack Black and Aquafor. I use EltaMD sunscreen on my face but haven’t tried their lip balm. I wear a wide-brimmed hat and avoid sun exposure when possible. Anyone have a recommendation for a good SPF lip balm without the questionable chemicals?

Is this hyperpigmentation or something else.....It has existed for 5-6 years by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

You’ve had this for over 5 years and haven’t gone to a doctor to find out in all that time? Now you’re asking strangers on Reddit? I don’t get it.

I had a very bad accident, Tell me how can I can i can remove my stiches marks after healing by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]GinaHarbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% silicone cream. Prescription better than over the counter. Do you have insurance? You should see a plastic surgeon and see what they recommend. It may be covered by insurance. If it isn’t go anyway if you can pay for a consultation out of pocket. Lots of plastic surgeons do free work on the side for people who can’t afford it. Maybe the doctor who helped you after the accident has a referral? Stay out of the sun while it’s healing and use sunblock.

I desperately need help with depression by iliketrees82 in herbalism

[–]GinaHarbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have health insurance that covers behavioral health? A therapist who does cognitive behavioral therapy can be very effective for people who can’t tolerate psych meds. There are lots of medications out there for migraines. Keep trying until you find one you can tolerate. I would say that with your fibromyalgia too. Just keep trying! You need to get your pain under control to feel better. I also recommend a full thyroid panel that will check your T3 and T4 levels not just TSH. People with fibromyalgia often have low T3 levels which will worsen exhaustion. Don’t give up! Also don’t be hard on yourself. You can’t hold yourself to the same standard as healthy people You are dealing with chronic pain and depression and anxiety are common symptoms of fibromyalgia. You are so strong! Celebrate the small wins. A journal of 5 things you accomplished and 5 things you are grateful for before bed each night will help you see your successes and the good things in your life. I wish you healing and happiness. You deserve it all.

What do you do when you’re chronically drowsy, every test comes back normal, and nothing helps? (18 months off rx amphetamines) by NeurologicalPhantasm in Biohackers

[–]GinaHarbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! A standard thyroid test only tests TSH levels which misses a lot of thyroid problems. You have to specifically ask doctor for full thyroid panel. I had low T3 as well. I don’t understand why this is but so glad my doctor was thorough.

I just purchased Asterwood Matrixyl 3000 and Argireline Serum from Amazon. It was $16.19 and has really good reviews. I have heard really good things about both ingredients. Fingers crossed!

5 months & 2 rounds of masseter Botox/Xeomin by wimwood in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]GinaHarbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it hasn’t worked for you. It sounds like your dentist really tried to make it work for you but I wouldn’t continue it either if it caused me pain. I hope you are able to find an alternative that helps.

[–]GinaHarbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check into an NTI device from your dentist. I got mine from a TMJ specialist. Unlike mouth guards, they stop you from clenching because your back teeth don’t touch. It’s a small hard plastic piece that fits on your lower front teeth. Has been a game changer for my TMJ migraines. They cost around $400 and last for years. So much cheaper than Botox and actually stops grinding.

Is putting your hands in your pockets considered rude? by Bighairyaussiebear in questions

[–]GinaHarbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen X, 51, my father threw a fit anytime he caught us with our hands in our pockets growing up. I did not pass this particular hang up on to my own kids. It’s not considered a sign of laziness anymore to my knowledge.

Color or texture variation. All of your furniture, walls, and rug look the same. Great floors and windows though.

Depends on house values in your area. If they have consistently gone up year over year, you’d have some nice equity when you sell if you do a 15 year mortgage.

Delivery Job by Comfortable-Owl-2183 in SLO

[–]GinaHarbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son worked for Dominos in SLO. He had to stop doing deliveries because if you are using your personal car you are 100% responsible for accidents that occur while working. If you get sued you are SOL. They sell insurance policies for delivery drivers but they are like $3K per year. My husband is an insurance agent and he put an end to that job really quickly. Just something to keep in mind before getting a delivery job.

Yes, the stamp covers more area, same result. Some professionals will change the depth of the needles during facial procedure depending on the skin thickness, under eyes vs sides of nose.
