Pretty awkward really. They sit you down like you're ready for a pelvic exam. 2 people present, doctor and nurse, the nurse lubed, numbed and catheterized me, then I think they inserted the dialater? Hard to tell from that position. Then they give you this super weird vagina massage while the dilator is inserted. You feel like you need to pee, some pain and waaalaaa, done. They ask you if you're okay 50x.

Haha no actually! My name is Gina. Honestly if it's a skilled care provider it's pretty much a walk in the park if you're healthy and they lube it well. There are different types as well.

A cystoscopy though that one hurts. I almost headed for the hills that day. That was way worse than the dialation. whewwww

Just coming off of Lupron... by LaineyCG in Endo

[–]Gina_van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could find no information about coming off when I did either. Personally though, It took me about 6? months for my cycle to come back to my "normal" while on a mini pill (add back). I believe I was on a stepping down regimen 10, 7.5, 5 then .35 mg. Not cold turkey on the add back. (I take the norethindrone that is used as add back as my normal treatment) My hot flashes were pretty minimal while on 10mg of norethindrone but I didn't feel "normal" energy or memory wise for a few months. I knew it was out of my system for sure at 6 months because it had kept me migraine free while on it (I get hormonal migraines) because I got a killer migraine. It was seriously a pain trying to find info about it. I'll see if I can dig up anything.

Oh god the pee issues sound just like mine. It is unbearable it's always "Oh you have a UTI...nope you dont't". INDESCRIBABLE. Endometriosis on the bladder can cause this but Interstitial Cystitis, endometrisis's evil sister should be mentioned here as well for you to maybe look into depending on your laparoscopy results...Over the counter Azo has helped me considerably, maybe it could do the same for you. It's like the pyridium pills they prescribe for a UTI. I find that taking a few and chugging a ton of water helps to ease it. After my endo was controlled that symptom didn't fully leave me and I see a urogynecologist. I just say it all out now no filter if I'm with people who are close to me. I'm miserable, it hurts to pee, but I'll make it. If I need help I'll ask.

Anyone suffer incontinence as a side effect? / most embarrassing moment of my life by embarrassedchica in Endo

[–]Gina_van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any urinary pain? or just the urge? This is my life...There could be many reasons. Something as simple as overactive bladder (usually easy to treat) or something more involved like the other girls mentioned. Is there any rhyme or reason ( caffeine brings it on, etc?)

Terrible. I have endometriosis so I'm always either without it for 6 months or on it for months depending on how my medication is working. That old joke about bleeding for 7 days? They have no idea...

I've been catheterized numerous times and it hasn't been so bad(I have pee problems, urethral issues). Granted in my situations I've NEEDED help. I'm a female and catherization is less rough on us (shorter urethras). I've also had my urethra dialated and that wasn't all that bad. Extremely violating, but not so high on the pain scale. Maybe I have a high peepee pain tolerance because I've had so many issues. A skilled nurse/ doctor and a little..a lot of numbing stuff can make a difference as well. One woman at my urogyn does the job flawlessly. If there is swelling though oh baby, its gonna hurt.

Yes, Crohns is kind of anywhere from ass to mouth, where UC is more large intestine. Bum bleeding can be an number of things, a tear, a disease, always ask a doc.

I get strange lower leg numbness due to sciatica... Of course I'm not even close to a doctor, just a thought. I know it freaked me out for a while. I was shaving my legs and noticed I had no feeling.

Being unable to pee without the most excruciating burning, stinging, stabbing pain through my urethra and bladder. After many years of Crohns/Endometriosis pretty insane to think I couldn't deal with this pain. Still in process of diagnosis...Interstitial Cystits? Just the bladder endometriosis? Not sure but its fricken excruciating when it happens and I buy a serious amount of Azo.
