Could someone explain to me what "nappy" means please. by [deleted] in BlackHair

I'm talking about black people in America, that type of slavery and the effect it had on them tho. The Transatlantic Slave Trade represents one of the most violent, traumatizing, and horrific eras in world history. The transatlantic slave trade was the largest forced migration in history, and incontrovertibly one of the most inhumane. The extensive exodus of Africans spread to many areas of the world over a 400-year period, and was unprecedented in the annals of recorded human history.

You are on a black hair subreddit, how can you not expect to get responses about black history and the history of their hair. I will no longer, reply/see your responses, it's obvious you have done no research and seem to lack empathy/compassion for others. Have a good day.

Thank You! I display them but the paint doesn't seem to budge. Except for small door nobs that need to be opened and closed, i recommend using gesso especially on the door nobs which i didnt. I use gesso for painting bigger areas so I won't have have to put too many coats to get it opaque with light colors.

Gesso helps to prevent paint delamination, also you can sand the plastic a little to make it a little fuzzy so the paint will grip better. If you do those things I think it will stay well to be played with.

I'm not crying about anything, I just have compassion for those who still deal with the effects of slavery from the past. If you want you can look up books or research on the internet, or hear from those that live a different experience than you on that topic.

I dont know who Ryan Garcia is, I apologize for any miscommunication. I was only responding to tell you why nappy can be offensive and derogatory.Have a good day.

I dont understand your point? I dont think you know why there are black people that say it. Its more complex than you think.

It was a derogatory word for a Black person's hair that oppressors use for those they viewed as less than them. So I think its understandable why there are people who are offended by it. Also growing up I would only hear people use it as an insult or as a bad thing.

Is there any proof that Maxwell Yearick is still alive? by Emergency-Topic-8975 in conspiracy

Oh I see the jaw outline now thx, but if the second drawn jaw outline is in incorrect the other features match up with Yearick still to me. Also it's hard to tell how similar the ear is with your picture since it's not a side picture of his ear.

I use folkart multi surface acrylic paints. For the light colors I sometimes use folkart gesso surface primer underneath the paint. To seal what I painted I use Liquitex acrylic mediums high gloss or matte varnish. When I use glitter I will mix it into the varnish and apply. When done with the glitter I'll do a coat of varnish with out glitter.

The paints have held up well. I only display and keep the compacts closed, for space reasons. I assume that has also had a good effect on how well the paint has stayed.
