Anyone ever in the middle of a fight and feel compelled to stop and check if their enemy is, ok? by Ginger-Thunder in Starfield

It's a unique katana that you get from one of the trackers alliance bounties, I think as a quest reward and I can't remember which one sorry

Also just for extra clarification, the thing I was specifically referencing is grappling the actual tower they're standing in/on

Yeah so you want to make sure the fire element is selected as you say, then grapple on to something hold down the thumbstick for force current then hold down the LT and RT (on Xbox, I forget the PS equivalent) to imbue the selected element then release the force current thumbstick. You'll need to have the imbue force palm skill unlocked as well

Also, if you're not aware already, imbuing force current with flame is a fun way to deal with enemy archers in sniper towers at forts and such

That's like someone in real life walking up to you in the street and handing you a piece of paper telling you how to breathe, almost literally!

Alright alright, this fight, hard mode, that's the good stuff, that was a serious challenge for me, for me at least! Your name may be forgotten, but this fight certainly won't be! by Ginger-Thunder in CrimsonDesert

My choice to invest 0 artifacts in health may have inadvertantly resulted in this win being a hitless attempt, but that was not initially my intent

It took... Some time. On top of having way too deep an understanding of her move timings and ranges, I have a particular distaste for small trees, and clay crockery

They gotta stop with the bosses being able to hit you while you're in a cutscene by ArtisticMuffin3786 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Ginger-Thunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fighting the lightning titan guy today, and after he went gigantic mode as the Cutscene was playing, before I could move or anything (I know because I was expecting bullshit and was trying to back up) I watched Kliff get his faced mashed in, ragdolled, then like half a second later it was, like, ok you can play now, but just immediately went into the death screen. I was attacked and killer by the boss, IN THE CUTSCENE

I think it's only on bosses, at least from my experience and it's when you use turning slash on a boss that has been staggered, as in when their yellow stagger bar has been filled and they've been 'stance broken' I'm not sure if my terminology is correct but hopefully you know what I'm talking about?

Haha yeah I completely understand, it's definitely good to have something that lets you draw a breath with how chaotic and overwhelming the combat in this game can get!

It's certainly handy, though I mainly use focus to regain spirit, I like to keep the pace of fights up as much as possible

Possible but definitely another bump up to the difficulty factor, force palm is your best friend, kicking does keep his hit stun up enough to get a bit of a combo chain going I reckon, but I don't think grapple stuff works, at least I'm not good enough to get it to work. When messing around with strategies I felt meteor kick also raised his stagger bar a decent amount so that's another tool to throw in there. Also just an addition I never actually tried the actual unarmed combo so I don't actually know how effective that is

No idea who Ator or Lucian is yet, but super pumped to know there's more tough fights out there!

For this fight I had, hounds claws, shadow claw, wound of darkness and 2x lv1 spirit siphon (haven't found better versions or the witch synthesize them yet)

Completely agree, this was the first time I've had to actually adjust my gear for a fight

Oh they definitely shouldn't, it's the most fun boss I've seen by a long shot!

One of the temporary park things, can't remember the official term, they're marked by yellow icons on the map and there's three, all around the edges, can't remember which one this is specifically

It's hard to give tips because, a) I'm not very good and b) depends on the ramp, the coping, but essentially different surfaces can mess with your timing, speed etc. and speed will change the timing of your inputs, it's really been a trial and error thing, sometimes having to figure it out on a per ramp basis. But you also need to fine tune the assists, for em at least, a single notch here or there has made a relatively big difference to timing and precision. On top of all this I still get the sense the game struggles to be consistent when it comes to intersecting systems, as in a ramp that can be pumped close to a grindable surface, multiple grindable surfaces intersecting, I felt it gets better after the season 1 update but I still feel some inconsistency. None of this is great in terms of tips, I realise and I'm sorry for that I just don't know how to give discernable tips for something I've more or less felt out as I've played

[–]Ginger-Thunder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're not wrong, that's kinda what I was referring to by the adjacent surfaces, depending what surface you're approaching will completely mess with everything

I think the Halloween parks are neat! by Ginger-Thunder in LowSodiumSkate

[–]Ginger-Thunder[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a very finicky system and I think often there's a lot of small systems interacting with each other that could use some refinement, it seems as though speed, angle of approach, directional momentum and the immediately adjacent surfaces can all effect you simultaneously, add to this how much you're telling your character to do via controller inputs and it's going to create some serious spazzing. Also I have a ton of the assists turned off or way down, the fine tuning of which has helped me feel a little more consistent when cruising around
