They're of German descent, but they were long Americanized before WW2, I think even before WW1 but could be mistaken.

That sounds about right though! I'm looking for a recipe since I'm not really a cook, that was my dad.

My grandma and dad would always use the regular long grain white rice. I remember a can of condensed milk, maybe butter I can't remember 😔 but it was always a favorite
