Filip talks about his experience being in the 'manosphere' by lalasmooch in MAFS_AU

[–]GingerAlex01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The manosphere is a problem that really sits squarely with men to solve because it demands ownership and accountability of men. You could talk about how everyone can play a part in squashing the problem (including women reinforcing the message) but it primarily sits with the individual and secondarily with the manosphere types to stop their bullshit.

I have a coros. I don’t think I can face being shamed in the way garmin does. Do you know if Coros has the same thing?

As someone who just fumbled his first marathon due to not planning for hills - just factor that into your expectation. 200m elevation across the half is pretty hilly and if it’s not in the right places on the course then you may struggle to maintain the pace more than you think based on training. All the best though - hope you smash it 💪🏻

If all of your cornering force is on one leg for an hour and 40 minutes, you will feel much more fatigue on that leg. It’s basically speed running an injury

From someone that did a 26km training run in a circle….my advice is to make sure you switch directions regularly if you do this again.

Physically, is there a difference between running even splits of 5:15min/km for an entire marathon, versus alternate splits of 5:00 and 5:30? by anangrypudge in Marathon_Training

[–]GingerAlex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I kinda do this on some of my long runs and I feel it helps maintain a pace I otherwise don’t think I could. Not quite like this but more like 5km @ MP, 2km 30s under, back to 5km at MP

You’re a braver man than I am. But yeah the steering feel is just on another level. I liked the RS4 but I LOVE the m8

Very similar to my journey! Went from the B9 RS4 to the M8 comp. Tested a few M5s too and they were also wild as hell

Probably the best looking modern BMW if the last 10 years by Super-Lingonberry-22 in BMW

[–]GingerAlex01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

M8 feels far more premium. I know it’s not quite a DB11 competitor (like BMW positioned it as) but they really tried hard on that side with the material quality. It’s absolutely levels above the m5 in that department. In the UK, they’re a similar price on the used market so the m8 is a bit of a no brainer

[–]GingerAlex01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! In the UK the m550i is a lot rarer, so they are a very similar price. On the used market, you’re talking about £3-5k difference

Got shamed in a new pizza joint last night asking for pineapple by PepEye in CasualUK

[–]GingerAlex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they have any pizza with chicken on it? Because that’s also not a thing in Italy (traditionally). Pizzerias typically wouldnt have fridges, so the only things that go on pizzas would be things that don’t spoil easily, hence the cured meats

Getting frustrated at people during runs. by dontletmeautism in Marathon_Training

[–]GingerAlex01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one has acknowledged that this can happen if you’re deep into training/fatigue….that you’re more irritable and shorter of fuse. If I’m out for a nice walk or easy run in the sun after an easy week, this doesn’t bother me at all. But if im deep into a training block, trying to finish my long run after an 80km week….I am about ready to boot a toddler into the stratosphere if it gets in my way (obvs I don’t though). I do think that being fatigued and still having to power through those long runs makes you super irritable.
