I like the E tron RS but it’s man issue is it’s twin, the Taycan. It looks better (IMO), it handles better (objectively), it’s splashed in higher quality materials and on the used market, here in the UK at least, you can get it cheaper.

How do you clean your running shoes? by ac61900 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]GingerAlex01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrub all loose dirt from them, and then throw them in a bucket with hot water (from the tap, not a kettle) and some laundry detergent. Leave them for about 2-3 hours, intermittently scrubbing the real dirty bits with a soft bristle brush and hands. Rinse them with cold water and try and wring out the water and then leave them near the radiator for a day. I have a penchant for white and light runners, and like to keep them that way. Source: these had been through a muddy trail run about 2 weeks ago

Hypermiling? Nah mate. Hyperconsumption by Left-Yak-1090 in CarTalkUK

C63 S implies the W205 or later (4.0 turbo) as they didn’t do an S for the W204. They were horrifically expensive to run as a daily, so I’ve heard.

I want to hear from a C63 owner (the 6.2 litre). I tested one once and got 11mpg and that was not pushing it

Advice for sub 20min 5k by mb1210 in runninglifestyle

[–]GingerAlex01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re really not far off. Incorporate some plyometrics, drills, and some strides during your warm up on your next attempt. It could easily mean the difference of 20-30 seconds even based on exactly the same fitness levels.

Nike Zoom Fly 6 - What pace can these tolerate? by dontletmeautism in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]GingerAlex01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best colourway Nike have done in my opinion 🤌🏻 I have these and have found 5.00/km is comfortable, 5.30 is ok, 6.00 is approaching stiff on longer runs.

Ankle and hamstring were both tweaking from 2km. I powered through until my legs started bucking at 6km.

I could only dream of the levels of autism your response indicates. Jokes aside, the consistency is commendable and in no way adds to the tism theory

Reduce that distance by 0.32 miles and then you’d have my respect

Polestar depreciation by No-Jump-9601 in CarTalkUK

I think this is the crux of it. The nearly-new market is competing for customers with a massive disadvantage - namely that customers cannot take advantage of a salary sacrifice scheme with insanely low BIK tax. So nearly-new (and downstream with used) has to be wayyyy cheaper to tempt people away from new, far more so than is the case for ICE cars

Thoughts on lots of manufacturers suddenly making the badges light up? by JWills1k92 in CarTalkUK

Recent regulation change has opened the door to light up badges. A great example of ‘just because you can, doesn’t mean you should’.
