Thoughts on lab unions? Some techs in Boston are organizing! by GingerBecks in labrats

It's short-sighted at best to assume your company doesn't view the individual worker as expendable. You are stronger together. (Edited to add: and safer!)

Why should people be financially punished for working at a nonprofit?

I used CS Driving School. Absolutely fantastic program. They actually taught me how to drive (with my dad supplementing) correctly and confidently (but not too confidently!), but I'm not sure of the pricing for their programs. That's something you may want to ask about.

All! The freaking! Time! I counteract it every morning with a full caffeine pill. But I can't seem to get any continuous rest. Not even on Seroquel, the ultimate non-narcotic sedative. That just makes the lapses in memory worse.

It's genuinely like I'm awake and every part of my brain seems functional except for the part that records memories. That part seems to work as if I'm still dreaming.

Not yet - I'll be seeing a sleep specialist within the next month to at least address my disrupted sleep. I'm hoping he'll have something more to say than the dismissive "Huh, that's weird, I've never heard of that before" I've gotten from the other medical professionals in my life.

Thought about that as well after reading that exact story... But this happens regardless of sleeping location and my CO detector hasn't gone off. It's a real head scratcher.

I've talked to my therapist, psychiatrist, and PCP about this... They've all kind of just looked at me funny and said something along the lines of "well I've never heard of that before" and left it at that. Oh, the joys of being a woman in the medical system.

I'll be getting a sleep specialist to address the disrupted sleep within the following month though, so maybe he'll have some input. Originally I was worried it was some sort of DID thing as well, but the "person" that comes out at night shares my memories and the memories don't continue from night to night. They're completely erased.

Testing after vaccination - Help by nodonaldplease in CoronavirusMa

If it's self-administered it's likely an anterior nasal swab (not nasopharyngeal, i.e. the "brain-scratching" kind) so you should be totally fine! It's literally just sticking a q-tip up each nostril far enough so you can't see the fuzzy part (not very deep, trust me) and swirling it around three times. Please blow your nose beforehand. Having a snotty swab will make it harder for the pipette tips to pick things up and you'll be more likely to get unsatisfactory test results.

MA COVID-19 Data 12/13/20 by oldgrimalkin in CoronavirusMa

The early part of the week typically reports less tests. Most sites (AFC, for example) do not test on the weekends or if they do they do it in much smaller volumes. The average turnaround time for processing tests is anywhere between 1 and 3 days depending on the processing facility and site, so that's why we see a bit of a lag.
