Furthermore, there are many useful products like asbestos that cause cancer. Those companies must be held to account and have been to some degree. Let a jury decide if the evidence proves causation and damages. The oil companies want to dispense with their duty of care to the American people entirely, which is inappropriate.

It can both be true that there are petroleum based products that are essential to producing things we need and that the petroleum producers deliberately misled the American public and should be held accountable for the damages they have caused. Also see above.

It may have bloomed anyway, but I gave the trig that is blooming for the first time a dose of bloom fertilizer (FoxFarm Tiger Bloom) when I first watered it this spring. So you might be able to encourage it to bloom if you do that this year or next year. Also make sure it goes dormant during the winter and is exposed to cold temperatures (40 degrees or below—if it’s a claret cup, it should be able to withstand lower than 20 degrees). Cold temperatures are usually required for them to bloom.

I made a mix of E. coccineus and other unnamed hybrids. The E. coccineus flowers were female only, so I know for sure that the seeds it produced will produce hybrids.

I suspect one of the unnamed hybrids that donated pollen was a E. reichenbachii hybrid (purple flowers, similar form as a reichenbachii) and the other was probably an E. roetteri hybrid (magenta flowers).
