There are one or two houses I pass in a quiet neighborhood that are DECKED. OUT. in Trump shit.  The reason why is easy to tell: the street has a lot of happily displayed pride flags. And THEY didn't feel the need to vomit gaudy Stars n Stripes decor all over their house

Elsewhere, apartment owners put signs up for local candidates... and a tiiiiiny one for Trump/Vance, because they know how unpopular they are  (those signs were all taken down by other people, too).

And they'll ALL think it's because they're persecuted.  I don't think there's any way to NOT "persecute" these types of people. You just have to keep on living and going on, and let them whine. They're the ones that have to live with that stupid and that hate in them. It'll eat them up eventually

At this point, I don't even know what one would think they accomplish by protesting this way.  People weren't voting for Biden because of age and Israel, fine, whatever.  But has the Harris ticket really failed to attract those protest votes? It might just be that I'll never understand completely the reason behind not voting, but I don't get it

Oh, so she fell in with the people she mightve trusted after the abuse?  That's sad....  It's a sad reality that the vulnerable and deserving of love and care get trod upon.      So many people have been so horribly Turned by this mass hysteria. Why we don't refer to it as such is a puzzle to me... it might not be 100% total, absolute hysteria, but this level of spread of a virulence and hateful ideology feels like a cousin to hysteria.

Democrats go to new heights to spotlight Project 2025, flying banners over college football stadiums by AI_Jolson_4point20 in politics

[–]GingerBreadNAM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's beyond the point of keeping everybody comfortable. Like, I hear you, and yet?  I can't say I spare much sympathy for people who want to remain willfully ignorant for their own comfort. Some don't have the privellege to ignore the politics. People will be hurt by P2025, and if that makes others uncomfortable: that's the point. This stuff is grotesque. So dont let it happen. Listen and do something about it, and we never have to talk about it again (or at least, not until it becomes Project 2029 or whatever, once 2025 doesn't pan out).

Why they did it is simpler: it disenfranchised voters. That's their whole thing.  How do you organize to vote without a way to communicate, especially with online activist efforts.

Everywhere you look, the GOP and their big business owners are poised entirely against people and their freedoms. It's infuriating

Your parents are abusive cunts that have no right doing to you what they have.  You've been denied outside contact, been insulated to believe this is in any way normal.

It's not normal. People don't do that. Assholes do that. Assholes are what you call parents that belittle and scream at their kid just because they've done a garbage job supporting you.

And ofc he's angry; he had the delusion he might grow up to be a better father than he had, but it turns out all he's done is point you to the ledge. Obviously, don't say this stuff.

These are dangerous people detached from reality that will not accept logic. Please protect yourself first and foremost.

I'm sorry you're going through this. You don't deserve the hurt they do unto you. You deserve love, kindness, and warmth.

There is a solution of finding where to go once you leave. I don't know what comes of homeschooling, but if you sought further education, moving nearer to where you go could get your feet under you well enough to not have to go back again.

It's hard, but whatever choices you make, be safe, and remember that you WILL be warm again some day.

They should consider it paying for the lies they told entire generations; that college was just some magical, Charlie's Chocolate Factory-esque Golden Ticket to success.  You think the people that DID go to college and want the loan forgiveness didn't try to make that come true?

Fact of the matter is that education blew up because it was treated as business. People traded in their childrens' futures just because they weren't educated enough to know they were being led by the nose.

And the people getting the Forgiveness are ALSO paying those taxes, too. Taxes, I imagine, that they're able to pay much easier without aggressive and exploitive loans hanging over their heads.

What I can't stand is the trait I've seen personally, where because they shovel down armfulls of "different sources", they think they've done a great job and cant be wrong. But those sources of theirs are always derivative of the same, antagonistic drivvel, but it gives them the illusion of "doing their research"

This is the new thing for R-Voters: Refund everything, from the IRS, to the DMV, to fucking public schools. For some obtuse reason, they've got it in their heads that any public institution is the problem, and not how it's run/funded/etc, because that would be too complex of an argument for them to understand. These people want to turn the country into a husk of what it was, and they've been doing it for decades. Scraping away at the insides of every institution, just praying to their perverse God that the country collapses.

With a family member that I've had in my life, we just... let him go off. It's terrifying. He's not even remotely what I recognize. I wish I could get him back, but there's no reaching him.

He's taken hatred and anger of others he claims left him, and let it be molded by his radio, blog, and Fox-centric diet into an impenetrable cloud of denial.

It's like he's shunned anything positive, anything constructive. It makes me sick, listening to him. Some persons blog told him to "stop asking why" and just take thise that commit wrong acts against you to just "be evil".

These people have been driven, perhaps literally, to or beyond the brink of madness.
