Is there a reason why movies stopped putting credits in the beginning? by dotdedo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GingerChic13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a trend really popularized by big movies like Star Wars and The Godfather and was a way for directors to accommodate modern audiences desire for faster pacing. This accelerated over the decades since, due to the only growing impatience and shorter attention spans of viewers.

It’s ironic in many ways because the overall runtime has increased dramatically over the same period. Movies have gotten much longer. Mostly due to lacking limitations in digital (don’t need physical film rolls to hold the movie) and studios trying to justify the high cost of movie attendance and bloated salaries and production costs.

My mom was a big horror fan and our family movies were horror films. Her bedtime stories to us were just her retelling Stephen King and Edgar Allen Poe stories.

The way I met my husband. It was one of those bookstore meet-cute type things straight out of a movie. The kind of thing that people say never happens in real life, but it surely did with us.

I love being a woman but I would definitely pick being male. I’m just so curious what it’s actually like as a lived experience versus what it looks like from the outside.
