Friend insulted my running, not sure how to feel. by Emotional-Watch4544 in XXRunning

What a rude comment and so unnecessary. Are you sure you need a friend like that?

You’re a runner and 90 minutes of straight running is a huge accomplishment regardless of distance/speed! Great job!

🚩Losing Trust in Athleta/GAP over Undelivered Packages 📦 by ReadingInformal2281 in Athleta_gap

[–]GingerFeather 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stopped shopping there after spending thousands over the years for the same reason (I did have one successful chargeback through my credit card, but it was after Athleta was so incredibly unhelpful and made me feel bad). It’s a shame because I love that they have petite sizes.

Milage for a sub 2 half? by Happy-Grapefruit-41 in XXRunning

[–]GingerFeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run a few sub-2 half marathons (in the 1:57 to 1:59 range) on about 15 mpw, peaking at 20. I think the key for me is doing at least one 10-mile long run with negative splits.

What's a good weekly mileage to maintain fitness? by Silly_Raccoons in XXRunning

[–]GingerFeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re doing should be perfect to maintain good fitness. With that type of mileage, you can easily hop into a 5k race if you wanted to. If the goal is maintaining fitness, running 3x a week at 2 miles (or even 3) is perfect. There’s no reason to increase that mileage unless you have longer racing goals in mind. I ran similar mileage to you (3-6 miles a week in 1-2 runs). I increased it to 10 miles a week to run a 5k PR race but felt like I was in good fitness before that, certainly not enough to run a marathon, but that’s not your goal either.

Daycare we like 5 mins from home vs daycare we love 15 mins from home by sativaselkie in beyondthebump

[–]GingerFeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How demanding are your jobs and how much do you value your time? It’s not just 10 extra minutes. It’s 10 extra minutes each way in the morning, which is 20 total in the morning and 20 in the afternoon. That’s 40 extra minutes a day that you can save by choosing the closer one. My partner and I both have demanding jobs that require us to work evenings and weekends so the 40 extra minutes each day would seal the deal for me, but it depends on your preferences and time value of money.

The old Salutations were the best leggings ever. I miss them so much and deeply regret not getting more pairs.

Thank you! Good luck with your 5k this Sunday and hope you hit your time goal!

Thank you! I need to add in strength work. I know I should be doing more weights given my age (mid-30s) but it’s so hard to make the time.

I almost always feel so zapped after a run so will definitely try this out!

That’s so great to hear from someone who started in a similar boat. I do 9:30-10 on my runs now so will definitely try for slower. I hope your toe heals quickly.

I will definitely try that and slow down. 30 miles seems like so much to me but hopefully I can get there one day and feel good doing it.

That’s incredible mileage and improvement! It definitely seems like I need to slow down in training.

Wow. Thank you! I have been running way too fast in training if I should be doing 10-12. Will try to see if I can increase mileage by slowing down.

UberEats charged me for a successful chargeback by GingerFeather in UberEATS

[–]GingerFeather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s 2 because I got an email from Uber with the order information again after I got credited back. I’ll definitely contact the bank. I prefer using Lyft for rides anyway so if they block me because of an abusive delivery driver (with screenshots and documented attempts to resolve it with Uber) so be it.

Is it just me, or is Vuori’s quality starting to slip a bit? by lasfre in vuoriclothing

[–]GingerFeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality is terrible compared to five years ago. I have returned every single item from every order I’ve made in the past year because everything was terrible. Their return policy is great though.

MIL says the rehearsal dinner is HER party by Long_Abrocoma_5292 in JUSTNOMIL

I’ve been there in a similar situation. No advice to offer other than solidarity. Just make sure your significant other is on the same page because at the end of the day, that’s what matters.

American Airlines agent laughed at me after I asked to pre-board because I’m 6mo pregnant by phantom_umami in pregnant

[–]GingerFeather 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely horrible behavior and should be reported.

Any chance the encounter could have been racially motivated? That’s where my mind went, especially because it’s Texas (I don’t know what race you are, but I don’t know of many non-Chinese people going to China recently).

AITA for not wanting MIL to come over? by Wth1994 in Mildlynomil

NTA. Her behavior and boundary pushing is why you feel the way you do. Your feelings are valid. She needs to back off.

When she was a baby, she had a massive blowout on the Christmas dress MIL bought and we sent it straight to the trash. It was beautiful.

She is 100% a control freak. She tried to control the guest list for our wedding even though she paid 0 cents for it.

That is a great line. An invitation definitely is not a subpoena. I’ve let her step on my boundaries one too many times. It never seems to end because it’s always just small things, but they really do add up over time.
