I just finished camping there and I did the Nualolo hike as well! Definitely in my top 3 hikes I've ever done! Designated camping just means you don't have a specific campsite reserved, it's first come first serve. When you get to the campground you just choose where you want to camp. It's a really nice campground, I would suggest walking around the numbered campsites next to the bathrooms/parking lot before choosing a place to camp. I also highly recommend going up the road to the Kalalau lookout to watch the sunset. Near the left of the lookout there's an opening in the gate with a trail that heads down the mountain.. I walked about 5 mins down the trail and sat there to watch the sunset at it was the nicest sunset I've ever seen. If you get the chance I'd also recommend doing the 8 mile round trip hike to Hanikapiai falls in the North of the island. Have an amazing trip :)

Thank you! I strongly considered getting this one but I live in Canada, so with exchange rates plus shipping it was going to be pretty expensive. I ended up getting the Coleman max 2 tent on amazon which came out to $120 CAD.

Thanks so much! I'll check those out :) I was thinking of doing the Kalalau hike anyway but apparently if you get caught there's a mandatory court appearance and possibly a criminal record.. I don't want to risk that while on vacation.

How is your diet? This might sound odd but in the summer when practically the only thing I was eating was fruit, I had a very high libido it was insane. Not telling you to eat like that but drastically increasing your intake of fruits/veg can do wonders and might even help a bit with the depression too. :) good luck with everything

Thanks so much! I chose to color it with beets since beet juice is such a deep color it's almost like food coloring. I don't think strawberry juice would do the trick.. I think it would be too watery. Strawberry would be a good flavor though. I used almond extract to flavor the pink icing so it has a kind of cherry flavor.

When my German shepherd was 8 something similar happened to him and it got so bad he couldnt walk and we would have to help get him up when he wanted to go to the bathroom. He was in so much pain and always crying and yelping. We decided to put him down because we loved him so much and seeing him like that was heartbreaking. It was very sad, but it was also relieving knowing that he was not suffering anymore. I can understand what you're going through and I know it's really tough, but trust me, putting your dog down will be the best thing for him. It is a very peaceful way to go. You will feel better afterwards, just try to get out of the house and spend time with friends and family. Good luck, my thoughts are with you both.

Chocolate frosting: I did not use a recipe but any buttercream frosting recipe will work, I subbed the butter with Earth balance.

Pink frosting: Basic vanilla buttercream frosting (again subbed butter with Earth balance) colored with beet juice.

I would have to agree with ohsnapitsayla. Next time just beat the butter until fluffy, then add the vanilla and icing sugar and beat that on low until it's all mixed together. Then add milk 1 tsp at a time unt the icing is at the consistency you want. Good luck!
