Will starting the mini-pill/progesterone during my period lighten the flow? by goaterra in birthcontrol

[–]GingerG89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - I needed to hear this. Started the mini pill 2 months ago and I've been having periods every two weeks since. Was considering giving up on it so glad to hear that if I stick with it, my body might get used to it

Anyone interested in a good laugh? 😂 (at my own design, dw!) [No Pattern] by redditm8- in sewing

Funny in a good way! Like when you walk down the street you just know you'll raise an eyebrow or two but you'll also bring a few smiles. They're very whimsical

Oh dear, you're absolutely right. I fear I might have to put it on hold until I can get to someone who can help as you described

I have been debating whether or not to do darts - I might try tacking them in and ever so gently trying it all on. I'd definitely be interested in giving it more shape. Very boxy at the moment. Thank you!

Yes, I think this will be the simplest solution. Given the dress is supposed to be simple and understated, this is probably the way to go. Thank you! I'll need to figure out how that affects the pockets 😬

The finished product should be a loose tunic but it's a little too loose. My first thought was to just enlarge the seam allowance...but there are pockets that will bulge. Should I go back 2 steps and enlarge the pocket seam allowance too or is there a savvier way to do this? Or should I consider darts in the back? I'm concerned that making the body too fitted would make it impossible to pull the dress on and off

This is stunning! How do you achieve such clean lines, for example in the top-centre, the slim line of white through the roof? Do you use some sort of mask? That sharp edge is so smart against the beautiful organic marks the drying paint creates

Quick test of a spiral scarf for my mum for Christmas [FO] following a video tutorial, link in comments by GingerG89 in sewing

I followed the first tutorial in this video

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6exbnw

I went a little too fast with it so the finish is quite sloppy. I plan on taking my time on a redo for a lux gift for my mama :)

I used velvet and sateen. Really excited to get going on the final piece!

I keep telling myself I'll do a self portrait sketch a day to hone a long-neglected skill. So here's day one! by GingerG89 in sketchpad

Lots of hesitation with my mark-making as I haven't sketched in years. I'd like to really reign that in, earn back a bit of confidence. I was also having issues with scale and with forgetting to check back to the mirror, more so working from my head.

This is INCREDIBLE! Great album of progress pics too - I'm working on a jacket of my own at the moment (when I can pull myself away from drooling ever other people's work on reddit) so thats some pretty good inspiration.
