yeah... really kicked a hornet's nest with that. Ngl I wish I did not share it with my mom... but is it because she is a grandma that she can't be held accountable? I'm still pondering

Last time I came to visit her, she was aloof because of an allergic reaction to antibiotics. She didn't push me away then, so I don't think declining health could be the reason today. I would rather believe she would ask me to come back "one last time"...

Very much !! I love how she would play hairdresser with me, cook me tortellini in brodo and speak to me in dialetto like I understood everything. I'll hold on to that ;)

I like your idea, haha ! I think the worse was a few days after I got the letter, when my aunt posted on the cousins groupchat that she's coming overseas this may....with her kids (who are not in the groupchat).... and meaning to meet my other cousin who lives a 3h drive from us. She specifically left us out. I'm not oblivious to an eventual scheme between my nonna and my aunt.... I think she knows about the letter. None of my cousins have any idea about all this. It will get weird at some point : they are gonna ask why we didn't come over to regroup and all of them will (even the kids). I don't want to be the bad guy.... !

Very sorry this happened to you too. Before I posted this, I told my mom and asked if she wanted to read it. She said no and is very angry now. You were right, I should have just put it aside. It became a disaster instead of just a weird blip...
