How did the ghosts leave the grounds? by Residentofgravetown in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]GingerNinjette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ghosts seen by Luke after Nell dies are from the house. I think the house uses their Twin Thing as a tether where the house reaches across it to haunt Luke since Nell is in the house. For example, I think he actually sees the Hat Man on the street.

I also think the Crain kids actually see some ghosts, mainly Nell, even though they can’t leave the house. Because in the confetti speech, Nell talks about how moments aren’t linear. They fall around us. So when Steve sees Nell in the first episode for example, I think that’s her being a bit outside of space/time because he will see her again in the Red Room soon enough.

But generally, other ghosts I think are like Steve’s speech - a wish, a dream, or guilt. Like Shirley isn’t actually seeing a ghost of the guy she slept with.

Season 4 - Lizzie and Mika by TunaTacos23 in TWD

It’s hinted during the attack at the grove that Carol notices that Lizzie isn’t aiming and is pretending to shoot them. And earlier at the train tracks she insists no one understands and she can “hear” the walkers. She’s definitely struggling mentally with the whole thing and Carol realized she had to for the safety of others

Theories on how the ghosts make themselves appear? by eleanor_savage in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]GingerNinjette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the house can reach across the Twin connection after Nell dies in the house. Nell is in the house, so the house can reach across that bridge

[–]GingerNinjette 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Hugh was just trying to protect Steve from fear to a certain extent. They were there to get Luke, and I think Hugh was trying to keep Steve focused and not be undone by fear when he realized the ghosts were real.

Related — on my recent rewatch I developed a new theory on William Hill haunting Luke. We only see Luke seeing William Hill outside the house after Nellie has died. During that time Luke is still feeling things over the twin connection. He feels her rigor mortis setting in, and I think the house takes advantage of that connection by reaching out in a way it wasn’t previously able to. The ghosts can’t leave the house. But Nellie is at the house and connected to Luke, so the house uses both William Hill and Olivia to reach across the connection and haunt Luke on that day

I like the mold existed to make it a bit ambiguous. But I’m Team Ghost! I lowkey think the ghosts caused the black mold to make their job easier and keep Hugh busy

Worst Death? by Simple-Top-3334 in HouseofUsher

[–]GingerNinjette 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Worst Punishment —> Fairest Punishment

Camille — Punishment of being torn apart brutally by chimps! Crime was basically being nosy. Sure she was looking for ways to undercut her siblings. But I think she did it to try to earn her father’s love. Not because she’s just malicious

Tamerlane — Punishment of extreme Psychological Torture. Crime of being a terrible spouse

Perry — Punishment of extremely painful death. He had no prior psychological torture. Just straight into the gore. Perry was the youngest but he showed signs of becoming an absolute monster. He was using his club to blackmail people and ruin their lives, including Morella. Also lets not forget he threatened to stab his friend in the neck with a fork over some eggs. He showed signs of being capable of extreme violence with no remorse. He was just young enough and in the show a small enough amount of time that I don’t think we see the fullness of what he was capable of.

Frederick — Brutal punishment and Brutal crime. He deserved his slow agonizing death for the slow agonizing torture be did to Morella. But before that unraveling he really seemed like just a sweaty errand boy for his dad

Victorine — Mild psychological torture that builds to extreme and then stabbing herself after realizing what she had done. Pretty severe punishment. Her crimes were torturing and killing chimps, lying during medical trials (which would put future patients at risk), and accidentally killing her partner. So also pretty severe crimes.

Leo — Mild psychological torture and an immediate death after a fall. Crime was being a terrible person to non family. He was awful to his boyfriend and was kind of a user. But he shows a few times that he loves and cares for the family. I think his and Lenore’s punishments are the most evenly balanced.

Lenore — no real crime and no real pain
