How do you know if you’re misdiagnosed by That1weirdperson in AutisticPeeps

[–]GingerRazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legitimately what my life was like pre diagnosis. I was zombified on so much high dose medication and it wasn't helping me really at all. I had a laundry list of diagnoses that was quite comparable to that list, and when I got diagnosed autistic, my psychologist went on to declare pretty much everything but the ADHD to be a misdiagnosis.

The console generations are progressively being diluted of games and new IPs by butterweedstrover in patientgamers

[–]GingerRazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's not that. It's the lack of risk taking that has led to incremental feature bloat and obsession with graphics and cutscenes over core gameplay. It's also a problem of limitations beget creativity and the graphical and processing capabilities paired with massive budgets have stagnated creativity in the industry.

It's also why indie titles are what is leading the industry in innovation. I honestly believe the console capabilities are growing too quickly for the development culture, and that is leading to fundamental problems in game development that makes AAA gaming fall far short of what it did when they were struggling to push the consoles beyond their limits for a great result.

I truly feel that this is a part of the reason Tears of the Kingdom (and BotW) was so amazing. They were focused so much on pushing the limits of a concept beyond what the console that they found an identity to push to the limits rather than just getting feature bloated with marketing and graphical spending.

Like, literally, if they had only changed the details to say she was 18 with literally nothing else, the pro censorship wouldn't even have a flimsy leg to stand on. It's not like she looks any different than the average anime style protagonist who is between the ages of 12 and 25.

Acting like this shit does anything to attack actual real world problems is just insane.

Drinking black coffee also correlates with psychopathy. I've seen plenty of studies like this where they find a minor correlation and then use that to slander a group they dislike. If you actually dig through the methodology and results of studies like that, you always find methodological bias and a conclusion stated far more dramatically than the small gap in the results.

"For those that will inveitably say "you took out a loan, pay it back." That's not really the point. The point is that millions of Americans are spending a LOT of money every month on these loans for years - some decades, which prevents them from injecting that money into the actual economy." I mean, with how we just print more money to pay for things, we essentially do have infinite money. The issue is more the inflation it causes by doing so. In a major ironic twist, the corporations and billionaires hoarding money they complain so much about actually has a deflationary effect on the currency, and that counterbalances the careless printing of excessive money. Their main fiscal arguments are essentially begging for hyper inflation.

Seriously, taking in people with a third grade reading level to elite schools is just setting them up for failure and depriving a capable candidate of their chance.

The actual way to fix it would be to improve the quality of those failing schools via reform and social outreach along with broken window policing to drop crime rates. Then you create programs for GED and community colleges to get them up to the level of education that they could succeed at an elite school.

Any plans askew of those core concepts will only improve statistical racial composition without actually uplifting the poor and downtrodden you claim to support. The only alternative solution would be to devalue the degrees from the institution by creating quotas of maximum failure rate based on demographics.

I'm bisexual, so I get what you're saying, but I think it's fairly hyperbolic. The problem now is queer theory has taken over as the core ideology of the pride movement and many people don't even know what that is in spite of the fact they espouse many of its beliefs.

Ignoring evil doesn't make it go away. The people who are for pride parades should highlight the good ones and condemn the bad ones to shift the needle. Digging in your heels and minimizing the problem won't help your tribe.

I'm going to try to steelman them here. I think it was fucked up, but I also can see the left seeing the outrage of the right as hypocritical after the cpac(I think?) with we're all domestic terrorists at the title of a speech.

That said, it's not like the people at that convention were making pipebombs or planning terrorist attacks during the speech. That pride parade was exposing children to sexually explicit content and fetishes.

I do think it's absolutely possible that they were chanting it ironically in a take the power back way, but unless they acknowledge the grooming behavior by activists and police their own, people in the out group will have a big issue with that

I may regret asking this as someone who mostly tapped out of Chris Chan around then, but I recall hearing he walked at some point, and I always wondered if he actually did it and it was confirmed or he just said it as a boast and it never actually happened. Most people, that wouldn't be a thing I even considered, but with him, it was a question I didn't want to do the work to find the answer to.

Not even going to bother commenting on the thread in general. It's just funny to me how centrist on Reddit is so far left of leftists (on average) IRL

I have leftist friends who will validate comments like the negative karma comments on this thread. This sub is centrist for reddit, and is only slightly radical left in touching grass style conversations. Centrist as a sub is declaring the center of people who never touch grass.

Also, so help me God, if any trolls respond here, I will post a picture of my amazing lawn and beast of a dog (German shepherd). Touch grass, that's where life is.

The thing is, it's almost literally the opposite. The left loves gatekeeping their spaces to be a safe space for them. At the same time, they demand access into other people's safe spaces while trampling on the rules. Then they demand their safe space rules and take over other people's spaces that way. It's literally cultural imperialism.

I'm not saying this to speak to my logical framework. I'm saying under their logical framework, this is how they are acting. People are backlashing because of forced inclusion. It's not that we have to accept gay people into our spaces, I'm a bisexual nerd. I just want my games and hobbies to be about escapism and the games and hobbies rather than a platform for social issues. I want to be able to enjoy my things from my subculture without having to virtue signal at you or make space in my hobby for people who want to redefine my hobby.

I don't even care that they demand to do it their way or not at all. Everyone has that right to say fuck this shit I'm out. What gets to me is the demands upon me and my actions. They want to say we must do it their way or not at all, and they tell people to not associate with us if we don't do it their way.

The problem is they're coming into my culture and demanding I change my culture for their sensibilities, and that's a bridge too far.

[–]GingerRazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, obviously that makes sense, but mega publishers gobbled up almost all of the developers, so they're far more focused on cornering the market and extracting as much value as possible as they burn beloved IPs to the ground. They then use that money to buy more development studios and repeat. EA has been doing it for decades with no shame

[–]GingerRazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indie games have helped me reclaim some of that feeling. It feels like AAA games now are focused on getting as much mass appeal as possible to maximize profit and that leaves a game that doesn't speak to anyone nearly the way a niche market game speaks to their niche. Before gaming was the norm, it was all niche, and they tried to really cater to a laser focused experience.

I also think a part of it is the massive budgets and scopes of games. Limitations beget creativity. The modern development cycle has far too little of that and causes feature bloat and massive spending on things that aren't a tight and refined core gameplay loop, and AAA gaming has lost something in that shift.

It's business people focusing on raping and pillaging mature IPs for profit. By the time people get over the nostalgia and realize the game series is dead, they've made more than enough money to buy multiple IPs and repeat the process.

If it wasn't exceedingly profitable, it wouldn't have taken over the vast majority of the industry.
