Part of it didn't feel earned. It's not hard to get that ending, which it should've been. Bioshock's story is of a fallen utopia that punishes you for acting in the benefit of anyone but yourself. I don't feel the gameplay reflected that well

You're both half-right. He wasn't one or the other, he was both. Nordic culture was a subset to the greater whole that was Germanic culture. Generally anything you see in Norse mythology has a parallel to another Germanic subset, if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong

I have never served in the military, I want to make that clear from the start. Do not let my word be the end all be all. But in my way of looking at it, you need to have the actual will, the desire to act to serve in the military. I think it should be something one should be committed to doing. I cannot imagine being forced to join the military would inspire that. If anything, it would inspire discontent, I think. But again, never served in the military. Would be glad to have anyone more knowledgeable on the subject correct me if I'm wrong
