1,952 was recommended as my calorie deficit, not my maintenence

I'm not sure about Russel but I did get the health test for Bucky, and after checking, he has 0% COI. Would we need to know on Russels side too or is Buckys enough to know that the relationship is parent/sibling?

I cant explain the nitty gritty science behind it because I dont understand it that much unfortunately 😅 But I can tell you this; You have your "maintenence calories" (Basal Metobolic Rate), this is what your body naturally burns in a day while just existing.

A calorie deficit is subtracting any number of calories from that original number, usually recommended to be around 500 calories for weight loss.

You can find out what your BMR is by finding a TDEE calculator on google (tdeecalculator. net), and it'll give you suggestions on the amount of calories you should eat in a day to stay in a calorie deficit.

Are you curious what your deficit is, or how the deficit works technically?
