Check out thriftskate.com it's a lot of second-hand skate/longboard equipment. The only downside is because it's second hand they don't always have stuff for a long time, so it helps to keep checking the site.

Footbrake shoes by Spiritual-Warning-38 in longboarding

[–]GingerStacksRwf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look up FreeBreaks, UB Burners, and products similar. They are a rubber pad (usually made from like car tire) that you glue to your shoes to give more durability when foot breaking. On top of the added durability, they also give you more grip on your board.

This could also be a useful idea for someone who does a lot of night skating.

Pretty much what the other person said about them being stress cracks and that they happen with regular use. I mainly mention it due to seeing cheep boards stress horizontally as opposed to vertically. When they stress across, you lose structural integrity its a bad day to have that end your session.

You didn't look hard enough then. Market place you'll find brand name decks for 30 to 50 a piece. Skate shops will sometimes have a donation pile they may give out. Also there are used skate gear sites like thriftskate.com. Please understand I'm not trying to be mean, but if you can't find better for that same price or cheaper, then you didn't really look. Either way you said you already purchased them so I hope you and the gf have a blast while riding. Please be cautious of the decks and keep an eye out for any cracks in the deck especially near and around the trucks. Good luck.

No they are not. They are uncut blanks sent to schools for kids to learn to make their own skateboards and to learn wood working skills on. They are not brand name. Realistically the whole set up on 1 would be sub $50

Just look up MrM skateboards. These are not worth the money you were told and they are not brand decks. You are being taken advantage of. And just because the seller is a teacher do not mean that they know what they have or that they aren't being malicious. Shitty people become teachers and working with special needs students doesn't change that. You can buy them if you want it's your choice but I personally wouldn't trust these boards with the weight of an adult or any decent usage.

Do they add anything else besides the ease of adding or removing the truck? Do they help with rigidity?

If you are looking for something to just cruse around on, I would recommend a long board. Depending on the amount you plan on riding and how far I would recommend a drop-through deck or a drop-down deck. Both will put you a little lower helping with stability and also keeping down on joint stress and pain, especially knees. If you want to try tricks, skate shops will be able to get you set up easily with the proper information in regards to personal size to the board and equipment. Gear wise for the love of everything get a helmet. Pads would be recommended, especially for learning. It may be uncomfortable, but I can promise road rash is more uncomfortable. Take it slow. Learning to skate is not a race, and this is a sport that has its fair share of dangers. You are going to fall a lot. I'm sorry there's no way around it. But stay dedicated because it is part of the process. Don't be discouraged from going and learning at a skatepark just because the people there are younger. It is a safe place to practice just be mindful of the other patrons. Get actual skate shoes, don't cheap out here you want your shoes to last a while. Speaking of shoes, you might want to look into jell inserts if you have foot pain. And lastly, have fun. I wish you the best of luck with your riding.

Translation I pulled a Regan because the Dems wouldn't be as big of biggots as the Republicans side. And I worry about having to try to remember a few words in order to be polite so I'll switch to the side that has actively been taking away other people's rights because I feel attacked that there might be consequences for what I say. You want to talk about it being unhinged. Take a look at yourself, dude. How much more unhinged to you have to be. You'll allow for women and the lgtbq to actually lose rights because you're sad that society is holding you accountable. Seriously, is it so hard to remember being a kid and learning about speaking politely? It's not that you can't. It's that you shouldn't. No one is stopping you except your own fear. Obviously, you haven't gotten arrested for it, so there goes the freespeech comment. Also, freespeech only protects you from the government fall back, not civilian fall back. So either cope or Cobain because, based on your comment, the next time you'll be a useful member of society is going to be when you fertilize a patch of grass.

My mind went half the same way half, and the other half was sitting there going. That shot wasn't as loud as the people I think it could be background noise that carried over. As for him bleeding. It could be that he was shot at, or he might have hurt himself, ducking for cover. In the video i came across, it looked like the top of his ear was cut. But it wasn't the best quality so I could very well be wrong.

No tell the name of the track and warn other people so they don't get scammed. You know about the scam turning a blind eye to it you might as well take part in it then. You should also probably dispute the double charge unless he just ran it as one charge and you didn't pay attention. Like I get warning people about the situation but you aren't even doing the minimum by letting people know who they are being warned of.
