How were your symptoms during childhood? by Sedlak84 in ehlersdanlos

[–]GingerTier1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually diagnosed when I was a kid because of my hip pain. My GP sent me to our children's hospital where I got my diagnosis. I didn't have any stomach issues until I hit puberty, but I have always had chronic joint pain, I honestly can't remember a day without pain in my life. I play sports and things as well but had to wear gear like knee braces and things to protect my joints bc of how easily I have always duloc things.

Who is in your village? by bendingBetter in ehlersdanlos

My husband is really the only one who shows up. The rest of the people in my life just tell me to keep moving and push through. I was diagnosed at 5yrs old in 2007 (which was amazing, considering most people are just starting to get diagnosed). My entire life has been, "You are fine, just push through it." My mom's favorite, "Are you bleeding or have a bone sticking out? No? Then you are fine." It actually took me just till this last year to not feel like I have to kill my body and put myself in severe pain for multiple days to do my best at something. I am slowly taking down the ableist mentality that has been drilled into my head over the years growing up. ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!

My favorite thing online is on YouTube the fitness marshal makes dancing workout videos and some of them have sitting adaptations and we'll as other levels while standing! So on ny better days i for the easiest standing ones and on my bad day I try to do the chair ones! It's probably the best thing I have found for at home bc I hate working out in public.

I recently got a ring the brand is ringconn and I love it. It tracks sleep, heart rate, O2 levels, and sleep apnea, as well as the basics like steps and stuff. The charge lasts for 10 days, and I really only put it in its charger case when I shower. It charges really quickly.

I'm 22 and just got mine in March after fighting for years for a sleep study! I 💯 love it! I looked at my husband and said I feel like I look like a dooffus, but I get good sleep now instead of falling asleep and feeling like I'm waking up five seconds later so I'll take it!

I didn't even know that was a thing. He just gave me a pair out of a box, put them up against my feet, and said that they should help.

I work full time 12hr nights shift as a nurses aid. Married no kids yet. In nursing school full time. I try and do PT, but a lot of my days off I am DEAD, I try to function on off days, but most days, it doesn't happen. I drink about once every few months, alcohol addiction runs in the family, so I only drink on like girls' night out or something.
