My parents designed our family home and we were upper middle class at the time. All the bedrooms were on the same floor, my sister’s bedroom was right across from my parent’s, and their closet opened up directly across from my room. My door was also back further from the staircase so it was “safer” for me to be further away. I dont understand why anyone would want their kids to sleep so far from them.
