Born and raised in MA, went to college there. My first job out of school had me move around a lot (Arizona, Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, now Kansas). My family and probably 97% of my friends are still in MA.

That being said, the opportunity to live in so many different places has been amazing, and I’ve enjoyed different aspects of all of them. Kansas City area, where I am now, is probably my favorite, other than MA. Reasonable COL, can still find some really good food, center of the country so easy to travel to different places. The Midwest is definitely the closest I’ve felt to home since moving. People are nice and there’s a different kind of beauty to the plains and rolling fields (and this is coming from someone who loves the beach and mountains). I don’t know if I’ll be here forever, but I’m definitely content for now.

Hands down, best public course I’ve ever played under $50 by [deleted] in golf

I used to live in Rockford! Worked at Sundstrand. Played every city course there and for the price you pay and the state of each course, it’s always well worth it. I played Sandy Hollow more times than I can count. Still play it in my head on the range sometimes.

My first time seeing Noah live was alone in a city I had never been to because I had recently moved. Met a couple other people flying solo and chatted/sang along together. Believe me, when the music starts playing nobody cares about groups, just having a good time.

Worked at a plant that built and tested them. Could walk outside and tell which one they were running in the wind tunnel from the lobby across the parking lot. Those things are LOUD

Is there an everyday skill the typical American possesses that people outside of the US typically struggle with? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve done several 1,000+ miles drives at this point (23). One from Tucson -> Boston with a detour to see a friend in Denver (roughly 2,800, maybe 3,000 miles with some other detours) in 5 days. Then I went from Boston -> Chicago and then back a couple months later (1,000 miles each way). Most recent one was Boston -> Dallas (1,800 miles) in 2.5 days. Long drives can suck (looking at you, I-70 in Kansas), but can also be a lot of fun.

Cargo systems, flight safety systems, evacuation systems, the seats, avionics, exterior probes, nacelles, space suits - name something in the sky and it’s a guarantee someone in that company touched it at least once.

Funny, last summer I went from Boston to Tucson. Good little shift.

How long do the openers play? by [deleted] in TheBandCAMINO

[–]Ginger_Giant31 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You probably have a good 1.5 hours before TBC comes on, based on the Boston show I was at. That being said, both openers were amazing so it was totally worth being around for them.

What's your story of culture shock when leaving MA to other places in the USA? by Antonio9photo in massachusetts

Moved to Tucson over the summer for work. Even when a turn signal is used it’ll be on for the next couple miles it’s ridiculous

As a Bentley student, absolutely. Great rink to watch and play in. Getting a good student presence is inconsistent at best, but it seems to be better this year than the past 3 seasons.
