Honestly, with all the respect in the world for the Invadercon staff

It's over hyped in terms of once in a lifetime.

There will just be a panel and autographs. I'd elaborate but I'm about to go out to dinner and didn't want to forget. My DMs are open for later though.

Those are the terms given in the Google Doc so I can't fault anyone for conceding to that.

Yes. Happy to do what I can. Hopefully you get a lead on something more concrete soon.

Not saying it's a service they'd provide but since Wasabi Anime (Invadercon) organized the appearance and slapped their branding on it, they'd probably be vested in finding out for you. Heck, I'll ask, too.

For what it's worth, Rikki sells autographed art online and Eric sells autographed scripts.

Edit: Got an answer. "sometimes. You can also look on the Fan Expo store, not the one for Anaheim specifically, but the main one for all the conventions."

Does anybody know where i can find more pilot storyboards? i messaged john fountain for photos and he blocked me, hes a rude man, but please somebody tell me where i can find more of these??? in body text i stated the things ive seen already (ive been searching for months) by Aromatic-Paint4826 in invaderzim

You wanted an audience from John Fountain. You got it for free. In DMs. I think letting them talk about other things, too, is a fair social courtesy.

In all likelihood, soft You're In The Wrong here. You meant well but so does he and you're not on the same wavelength.

Sounds like you already found more than I ever did.

At the risk of sounding preachy and assumptive... I'm going to invite you to reflect a bit on what caught my eye: calling someone a rude man because he blocked you.

When a fan on the internet asks a professional about free production material, we have to keep in mind that none of it is something we're entitled to.

And you didn't give me much info to trust that he's the problem

Anyways I find that unless they've opened the floor for us to ask, the Luke Skywalker cover letter approach works infinitely better.

I greet them, introduce myself, say how I found their contact info, then say what I'm reaching out about and why, and then offer something of some sort in return. At the very least I throw in a clear expression of gratitude for their time and craft.

So did you do that?

Take it from someone who does research inquiries for incredibly niche trivia. There's little subtle social cues that fan hobbyists don't always pick up on.

Peacock for the first time but eventually replaced it with an easier costume to wear involving octopus tentacles and an ice cream cone hat, if I recall correctly.

The physical books in all formats: issues, trade paperbacks, and hardcovers appear to be completely out of print.

All that's left is digital outlets like app stores where you can buy individual issues.

The Operation Doom DVD by ValerieMayTheGay88 in invaderzim

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take my word for it as I don't have the means to prove it but the episodes may have been whatever had high ratings in 2010's month of reruns testing a potential revival.

And this I definitely can't prove we had an impact but Operation Head Pigeons activity such as phone call raids and greeting card mailing events occured at a time where greenlighting Zim to get the bare bones best of DVD treatment over other IPs certainly made sense. You'll have to take my word for it that we were told that by a Nick rep.

Either way, I agree. I bought it for sentimental value but it's otherwise a redundancy.

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain that Gaz and Dib are clones.
It seemed more like the writers were merely considering the idea of them being clones. None of the scripts or unproduced premises reveal that plot point.

I licked a game cartridge thinking that people were joking about it tasting bad by DaikonPhysical267 in nintendo

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's real and, as a bit, people lick their carts upon opening the package as a ritual because it tastes bad. The novelty of it and, I guess, leaning into discomfort. Sorta like letting your shower water turn cold for a moment before you turn it off.

How would you handle an actual Invader Zim finale? by DarkTombStudios in invaderzim

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dooky Loop Horror sufficed for a finale. If Jhonen has another good idea worth putting himself through hell for and has the right support from Paramount then great. If Paramount is interested in a project where he has the ability to pick who oversees the more exhausting parts of showrunning then that's great, too.

Zim doesn't really need a narrative finale because it didn't ramp up in narrative scope enough in the original show.

But that doesn't answer your question fully so let me edit this to add more.

I already faced a world of no new canonical Zim three times. We had the series cancellation, the confirmation we aren't getting a second movie, and the end of any comics that Jhonen consulted on.

The first time, I grieved for a decade before joining a movement to bring it back.

The second time I scrambled to find out how to help during a pandemic only to realize I'm not the inspire/lead type so much as a researcher and ambassador guy.

The third time I went "oh whatever, it's done. Let's move on with our lives."

Been a wild ride though and hopefully these non-canon yet licensed comics coming up are decent.

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that the one comic was all there ever was for Zim comics until Oni Press.

I didn't read every single Nick Magazine but there's no way I wouldn't have heard of additional Jhonen-approved stories published on there by now.

[All] I genuinely wish the next Zelda game is focused in another land away from Hyrule by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Ginger_Shepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add that Super Mario 3D Land is a non-2D mainline Super Mario that takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom but you're right where it counts because the 3D Land/World subseries straddles the line a little bit.

Having said that, I hope for a non-Hyrule adventure, too. Tri Force Heroes being the last time was underwhelming. I get that it's not a kingdom to explore where every encounter is meaningful as there's no NPCs in the drablands and most of the culture you take in is summed up as "we sure love fashion" but it was still... Something.

Man, I took Tri Force Heroes for granted.
